A wonderful neighborhood trail. There is one drinking fountain maybe 1.5 miles into the path in the direction I took (along the Torrance/PV Estates boundary), plus infrequent trash cans (I really hate carrying my dog's poop). Met a lot of nice people. Fairly clean trail. A little difficult to follow when you just before the trail crosses PV Drive North. A short portion of this trail is marked Horses Only. Will do again since it's so close to where I live.

This is a good walk starting along the Malaga Cove beach and then up through the Lunada Canyon. The second half is a descent mostly on city streets and then a small cute canyon through Palos Verdes (parallel to the 'official' path). There were very few people on the trail today which was pleasant. The one short steep slope in Lunada Canyon was slippery (due to recent rains), but manageable. The canyon was lush green (my dog loved it). Would have been 5 stars if fewer city streets.

Went after a rain so it was really muddy and slippery on the incline but on the plus side we had the whole trail to ourselves! Super easy and close to the road, so I would barely consider it a “hike” but it was a nice peaceful walk, and smelled amazing from all the flowers and plants. Overall exactly as described, especially the horse poop covering the trail which I could have done without haha

Well I certainly would not call this an easy trail. Please beware.
1. The trail leads down to the rocky beach so make sure to have a sturdy hiking boot.
2. Find or bring a walking stick.
3. Check the high tide report. I was not able to make it all the way around the bend because water came too close at some point.

Aside from that, it got my adrenaline going. Not because it was difficult but because you have to watch every step while racing to get to your destination before a possible tide comes in.

The dry lake bed actually had water from the recent rain and aquatic birds were present. Weather was perfect.

Kid friendly, easy, educational Riparian trail nestled in a Palos Verdes canyon. Quite a few people.

This is a very nice and wide open trail with great views. No major hills. If you suffer from vertigo, this might not be the trail for you. Will for sure come back to this one.

Started this trail on the ocean side with beautiful views, then went through some nature reserve. One steep include and moderate inclines throughout. Not a lot of shade. Lots of residential. I’d recommend turning back at the half way point (see trail map). Second half of the loop is all through residential streets. Trail is not marked well and had to use the trail map. Might consider bringing a battery pack for phone if you’re using the trail map the entire hike.

This is my first trail in my 45 Day Challenge. I was really impressed by the views. Nice open trail starts with 143 steps down. When you come to a fork, take the upper. I took the alternate path and ended up doubling back. It didn’t bother me though because I put in additional steps.

definitely need hiking boots. when the reviews say rocky, they mean it's literally 3.5hrs of traverseing a continuous pile of loose rocks.

Shannon Bustos review is spot on - the end of this trail is very rocky and at 66, my balance isn't what it used to be. If you just do the portion down to the rocky beach (0.6 mi round trip) it's a pleasant hike. A lot of people take their dogs (I did). There are a lot of surfers using this trail and can tell you about alternate, more dangerous, trails to the water. The bluffs trail off of Paseo del Mar has a good view of this trail.

Good neighborhood walk. As of 1/13/19 the city/Cal Water have the entrance next to the Little League fields (where the reference map shows the trail start/end) blocked for the water pipe upgrade (a photo is posted). I had to use the Buckskin entrance. Lots of small trails. A little difficult to follow the correct path. The path was slippery in places because it rained yesterday. My dog loved the mud.

There are a lot of peacocks in the area. They have a unique call.

Good neighborhood walk if you're in the area. Limited/street parking. Be courteous to the residents. Can get lunch/snack in the Malaga Cove Center at the halfway point (just walk maybe 100' beyond end of trail).

It's a pleasant little walk, if you don't mind a lot of people. There are some challenging trails leading down the cliff from the bluffs, but since the ground was wet from recent rains, and since I had my 5 month old puppy, I did not consider doing them. One guy told me the surfers wear soccer cleats when it's slippery to go down the steep hills. Nice ocean views, particularly of the start of the Shipwreck Trail.

Great hike for families. 30-60 minutes.

This is a fun trail. You can make it easy by staying the course or more adventurous by exploring new ways down!!!!

Nice garden for daily exercise and for kids. Used to be serene and quiet, but now management wants to "improve" it. There is now way too much grass/tree cutting/chipping (so noisy on some days) and too many vehicles around and about. The name should be changed to South Coast Industrial Garden.

This site was a public dump years ago. Best repurposing ever.

It’s really short, but beautiful and great to do with kids.

We got to the parking with no problem at all. To the left side of the nature center, walk parallel towards the street and shortly after you will see the trailhead. The trail was mostly flat but at the end there was a steady incline. I don't know what people were saying about bringing toddlers on this hike. Those are some active toddlers! My boyfriend has bad knees and he said this was the perfect length. **Watch out for horse poo**!

Not a bad hike especially that I had the trail all to myself. I didn't realize horses took the trail because there was A LOT of horse poop to hop over. The trail would probably be prettier in the Springtime because it was very dry and overgrown when I went plus the stream was all dried up. There's a bit of an incline towards the end. All in all, it's a nice quick quiet trail to getaway and get the heart pumping.

Trail head was difficult to ID at first, but after asking around, we parked at Paseo Del Mar & Avenida Mirola. The view is amazing. Very rocky path.

Nice easy short out and back trail. Not strenuous at all. But a nice little morning nature walk. We took the dogs and they loved it!

It is a pretty hike and gives you a nice incline to get the heart pumping.

Mostly residential with a path through nature reserve. Not a lot of ocean view but the homes are beautiful and so quiet. Unfortunately so much was pavement.

This is definitely hard but we enjoyed the adventure. Backpacked our little one down the whole way and stayed low. Our 7yr old son was very into it. When it comes to walking on rocks the whole way we didn't really mind it and it was fun working our way to the end.

Very nice trail with lots of shade. Went on a Sunday and there's a nice lot for parking. Had our two little ones, 23 month old and 8yr old. They loved it! Only one small thing was there was alot of horse poop but maybe it's not there all the time...definitely worth it.

Didn't really enjoy it. Walking on rocks all the time and the shipwreck is not worth it.
