The road passing the river has no location to follow. You have to climb places with lots of bushes. That detail ruined the walk. I will never try again. Very disappointing, I wanted to get to the end.

Beautiful view of the reservoir, perfect temps with no wind. Lower part of the trail was cleared and widened. Do not wear bug-attracting lotion, though!

Great view of Elizabeth Lake. Got spooked by a Mt Lion growling at us from the bushes so we didn’t complete the hike.

Beautiful but VERY WINDY! Winds of about 70mph toward the top

i would give this hike more stars, but it was almost impossible to reach the peak because of all the overgrowth on the path. and of course every single plant towards the top is sharp or prickly. wear long sleeve tee and pants or you'll probably have to turn back. i got 30 min away from peak and turned back cuz i was wearing tank & shorts and bleeding in multiple places from pushing thru brush.

Nice ride on the aqueduct. Pretty expansive views of Antelope Valley. Perpetual wind. NOTE: This trail is flat. It is NOT 774 feet of elevation gain. Also, it is paved which makes for good bike riding and walking/running.

Great hike! Had an early start. We hiked from Peterson Road to Bouquet Canyon. Perfect day for a hike, sunny and cool in the shade.

Phone read 10.89m in 4:17:57 with 3070 ft of gain. I did out and back. Last stretch up to Twin Peaks was a steep and fun section. Might have to use your hands a bit but nothing serious.

Nice trail! Not too hard for beginners... like me.

you have to be careful on this hike because there are some switchbacks that are washed out and if the fog is rolling in like it was when we were there you can get lost so be sure you have friends with you and bring water and hope that it's not foggy

the actual trail section is nice and shady. the views are pretty good on a clear day.the fire road portion is boring and buggy.

we did this hke today, great views of the surrounding mountains! Trail very well marked but a bit hard to follow on the last mile up to twin peak. Two of our hikers got stinged several times by wasps, they were hurting very bad, I will bring some cream or benadril just in case for the pain. Except for that, it was a great hike, we saw just a couple of hikers all day on a Saturday.

Newbie here. This trail kicked my ass. If this is moderate then oh boy. It starts a a steep descent. I had to use this app to find the entrance to the trail as I walked right past it, but once you find the entrance you can't get lost. I dropped in about 11am on a thursday and hiked to West Fork where I camped solo. I never saw another person. The camp ground had a nice flowing stream and lots of trees and shade. I wouldn't bother bringing a hatchet or saw, there is plenty wood lying around. Use that saved space for water. I started with 4 litres and a sports drink, and by the time I made it back out I was sipping my last few drops. The hike back is no joke. My legs will be sore for days. Not a hike that I would recommend bringing small children on, there are lots of narrow paths on steep edges. Did I mention that the climb out was brutal? The views and weather were nice in September. I would recommend this if you want a short 2-3 hour challenging hike that leads to a nice peaceful camp ground.

Did an extension past the bench to meet up with some single track to come back to extend a little under 6 miles. This area is a great place for hiking and mountain biking with a good mix of wide trails and single track as well as climbs and descents. One drawback is that here are so many trails crossing each other, it's hard to know which ones go where. Sucks when you've been hiking or riding a long distance already, and you realize that you've just taken a trail that's going to add much more work to your already long workout.

A nice short trail in town that's climbs after leaving the Aqueduct. The trail goes south off the Aqueduct close to a drainage pipe that goes under the Aqueduct, it is a little hard to find but you should see a downed fence to cross or go up the hill and see an opening in the fencing. Later the trail will intersect with the Joshua Ranch Trail and several other bike trails. You will see a total of 2 Benches on the Sgt. Owen Bench Trail. The turn around point is the second bench that has a bike fixing station at it compliments of a local bike shop. The trail does have loose rocky areas with a easy to moderate climb. The trail was moderately trafficked with hikers and bikers. This trail is loaded with DOG POOP!

Another one in the bag. Not a very exciting hike in September and can get quite hot. Be sure to wear sun screen and have the best bug repellent you can find. We used deet and it didn’t do anything!

Poison oak

Beautiful, serene and peaceful! First couple miles are a bit overgrown but the trail overall is well-marked and stunning. Will return to hike up to the Twin Peaks from the saddle when I have a bit more time!

Totally loved it! had an amazing time here with my husband, daughter and 2 nephews. Will definitely comeback

Nice long stretches of shade if you go early enough, we started at 815. Lower portion felt like we were being swarmed by bugs, even with bug spray. Some overgrowth. We think we saw some large paw prints, so just be aware.

Just a delight. PERFECT moderate trail.
