Really easy but scenic hike! Trails are well defined and the rangers at the visitor center are really welcoming and full of information.

We absolutely LOOVED this one! The rangers are super friendly and the trail is easy to navigate. You won’t be disappointed..an afternoon well spent..

closed on Wednesdays....I know..I drove there 30 miles...on a Wednesday...closed ..lol

Super easy trail for all ages and experience levels. Small picnic area by the parking lot.

It was Beautiful, especially after the rain, I would walk the trail again. It was easy

Easy hike. Good for kids. Need $3 cash for parking.

Really mellow. The scenic trail is the best part of the hike. I think I heard bullfrogs in the pond marsh.

Closed at 4pm daily.
Will try another day

Very easy family friendly. Huge frogs/toads in the pond! My boys loved to see them jumping into the water.

Good hike with nice views. Plenty of shade throughout the trail to help with the hot days...

great for kids. each small trail makes it easy to set goals for the kiddos.

Dogs are allowed.

I will love to post a review, but after driving there I was faced by a close gate and s sign that states close on Wednesday.

Nice little contained nature walk area, and the mill house is an added bonus to ponder 19th century entrepreneurial spirit.

Very nice, easy hike. Had the trail to ourselves. Observed two Acorn Woodpeckers, a male and female American Kestrel, Costa’s Hummingbird, and a Mockingbird. Fun.

Hidden gem in San Diego North county. Really quiet and peaceful. Not very crowded even on a warm winter day. We saw a coyote near the park ranger station which was really cool.

very relaxing and meditative

Not impressed, it was easy, not much coverage. The one overlook was overlooking the highway. The pond was nice though.

Despite the heat of a particularly hot weekend, this was a very enjoyable hike. The trails are easy, some options for elevation gain and vistas. There is a small museum and ranger station partway along the main trail, and the pond affords some handy shade and lots of birds. Bring plenty of water - this hike can get hot.

Trail crosses the Indian reservation and is closed. The residents who live at the trailhead call tribal police when they see hikers. The police will pointedly ask if you saw the "No Trespassing" sign, then detail their dislike for trespassers. For everyone's sake, consider this trail closed. It's not really all that great anyway.

Large, maintained and easy to follow trail, very steep at some sections. Offers great views of the Pala valley.

Easy and relaxing! Very mellow hike through the preserve with gorgeous views if you go on trail that heads up toward the ridge. Can be very warm even at 9am, so bring plenty of water.

Looks like a nice spot, however for whatever reason they are closed for the month of August. Posted a photo of hours and days they are open, so everyone will know.

Nice little family spot and picnic areas. Took the family in January and as always beautiful weather. There are multiple routes to choose from but this is not a strenuous hike by any means. There are Park Rangers onsite and are more than willing to answer any questions you may have about there area and the historic Mill that's onsite. There are outhouses throughout the preserve and picnic benches. You do have to pay for parking but it is well worth it and its only $3.00. They have maps and other information in regards to the preserve. Have fun and enjoy the day hike in this hidden gem!
