Simple trail. It's an abandon ranch that informs you about its history. Wasn't something that I was interested in. Its probably better for families with small children who can take a nice stroll or anyone who likes history.

Beautiful, my 5 year old was able to hike it which was great.

Busy, but a great little trail with caves, a reservoir, and a nice view at the top. The kids loved the cave!

Took the Bear gulch on the way up and the Moses spring back down. If the caves are open you are missing out if you just do this trail.

Consider adding the Rim trail to this hike. Start out on Moses Spring, then divert to the Rim Trail for nice views. You meet back up with Moses Spring at the reservoir, so you can take Moses Spring / Caves back to the trailhead. Entire hike is 2.3 miles with about 700 feet elevation gain.

6.1 mile loop from Bear Gulch Visitor Center via Condor Gulch, High Peaks, Rim, Bear Gulch Cave and Moses Spring trails. If you want a dramatic short (1.2mi) hike do the Moses Spring through the Cave to the Reservoir. Some of the cave may be closed due to bat pupping this time of year. Remember this is part of a volcano (one-third remnant is in Lancaster as the Neenach formation) that is riding northward courtesy of the San Andreas Fault and plate tectonics. Erosion and sinking have reduced the volcano that was originally nearly the size of Mt. St. Helens to what you see here today. Busy but worth it. 32 mile drive from Hollister.

Great trail for kids! I was so proud that my 2 year old walked the whole trail.

Beautiful! A must do for anyone visiting. The weather was gorgeous and the hike beautiful.
