Partly cloudy but perfect MLK day hike. Many trail options. Well maintained with benches on hilltops to take a break and enjoy the scenery.
If you make it all the way you the lakeside, be prepared to hoof it back in a steady uphill climb back to the trial head. It’s worth it. Bring water.

Easy wide trail and gorgeous views. A lot of company and no place to use the bathroom - because of the heavy trail traffic, impossible to go off trail and no facilities at the dam site.

really nice view!

Awesome trail with few great overlook points! Must Go place !

Breathtaking views

What a great trail. Well engineered for hiking. Beautiful views.

In addition to getting a great walk in, as a novice birder there was some great birds to find.

Nice trail to do with small kids
Awesome views to the ocean and great bare foot beach walk to the parking lot

This trail map should not include Point Bonita Trail. There's not a direct way to get from the Wolf Ridge-Lagoon Loop to Point Bonita without walking on the side of the road and through parking lots. Also, while the Miwok/Coastal/Lagoon trails are all dog-friendly, the Lighthouse Trail is definitely not. Just cut off the Lighthouse trail from this map and you've got a perfect day hike loop. A lot of confused people go into the park looking for the "Marin Headlands Loop trail" but won't find that. Just look for the Miwok or Lagoon trails to get started.

One of my favorite trails! Definitely stop by Alamere Falls on the way out. There is an arrow made of rocks on the trail that point in the direction of the Falls.

Muddy in the rainy season so be prepared with the right shoes, but so beautiful and unpredictable in the right amount! It was a good work out too!! Started on the right side facing the reservoir, at 3:20pm and completed just at sunset.

breathtaking views overlooking the beach and ocean! very peaceful and serene!

Well marked with lots of ocean views. Moderate traffic later in the day. Beach is easily accessible from Wildcat camp as are the falls

Just wanted to add that Kern River Conservancy and Keepers of the Kern are putting more effort in keeping that part of the river clean. It's disturbing to me that people go to a beautiful place like the Forks and have to leave their trash. we have gotten the river from Kernville to Johnsondale bridge free of trash.

I haven't been as far as painters camp. we made it about a half past the bridge. my favorite place. Going to go to painters camp the year. I love the Kern
