I’ve now hiked this twice, once all the way around the lake without kids and once only to the waterfall and back with the kids. Both were very enjoyable experiences, although if I do it again, I’ll probably just go to the waterfall and back and skip hiking through the campsite (on your way all the way around). Great views, the whole hike is forest and shaded, basically. Amazing family hike, but not much elevation or difficult terrain if you’re looking for a challenge. Waterfall is a fun stop for a quick lunch on the rocks. Would recommend!

A bug flew in my eye overall nice place

Great flat trail. Some parts were slightly overgrown but not enough to deter you from the path. Sara bunch of birds, squirrels, butterflies, and rabbits. It was a peaceful hike and only came across 2 other hikers while we were out there. Plenty of benches along the way to rest as well if needed. Highly recommended. The parking lot is still closed so you will have to park on Franklin Blvd. Happy Hiking

There are a ton of bugs on parts of the trail ( mostly the part where the trail is at level with the lake). Apart from that great workout, the west and east shore are both great! It was pretty crowded over the weekend and people were fishing and having picnics as well.

I went out to the lake a weekend ago, after a friend told me about the lake. What he didn't mention was the condition of the roads. My Subaru struggled quite a bit. There were 2 or 3 sections where I had to stop for a moment and think how I was going to continue. When I did get there, there were a few people at the lake. Could be due to the time of day or late spring, but I ran into a lot of bugs too. Wouldn't recommend.

Nice secretive lake, hardly no one in the early morning but got a bit crowded after 11. The trail was fairly easy and very kid friendly with nice views of the lake and foothills. Alot of people fishing but most of them weren't catching anything. Nice shaded picnic areas as well

Good for a run

Except for Main Street and the roads leading to and from Main, all of Locke is private property, however: the trail through Locke pre-exists the town as a public right-of-way. Although there is some poison oak in the area, it has never inundated the paths. It is a much cooler walk than the Delta Cross Channel's sunny dirt/gravel road that leads to the trail, and farmore scenic.

Easy to find parking, 9 miles for 4 hours, about 30 percent of the trail out on the sun. Good workout since it has some incline, very pretty view of the lake, mountains, birds singing, wildflowers. I will come back.

beautiful scenic hike. it have a few different trails but we stuck to this trail. pretty paved out the first few miles and last few miles. seen a lot of people fishing, people walking dogs, friends chatting. I would say this trail definitely isn't good for kids under 10 because it's pretty long. Most families stuck to the paved road and walked back. the hike gave us different sceneries throughout which was cool... one part was pretty densed wooded area and overgrown green. I seen plenty of lizards, a rat and even a rabbit. overall a nice relaxing hike. the inclined areas wasn't to much or to often. any adult should be able to handle if they don't have disabilities. limited bathrooms.

Great trail for kids and strollers

Loved the trail, but it turns out dogs are NOT allowed on the trails.

Good place to ride if your a beginner in mountain biking . Some cool little trials in the nature area . Couple jumps closer to Woodbridge area .

Nice trail, lots of shade. Started my recording late so it was actually 9.2 mi around the lake. Dogs must be leashed. Very busy trail with hikers and bikers. Beautiful lake views!

9.2 miles. We went counter clockwise. In the future I’d just head to the waterfall and then back, which is prettier than the day camp / roads you take on the other half. Great hike!

There’s a tiny bit of sand, but for the most part you’re on pavement.
