Really easy trail, no shade really except in the west side right near the trail head. But windy enough that you don’t mind. There’s also a cool World War 2 sites. And most of the steep parts have wooden steps to make them easier.

Fully paved for walking & biking, not exactly a “trail” but more like an old road repurposed for recreational use. Outstanding views make it definitely worthwhile and highly recommended for kids and families in particular.

Awesome workout and views! It definitely earns its "hard" rating - I will be feeling the steep ascent we made (on all fours at times) tomorrow. As others have noted, definitely go counter clockwise and definitely download this app on your phone. The trail up is not marked, and this app is your only hope - at one time we wandered into someone's private property and the resident was not happy! Also, I'm pretty sure that a section of the North Peak access road on this route does not exist, and the trail that you have to take adds another mile or so for a total of just under 7 miles. We parked at Montara State Beach, and spent a happy 30 minutes relaxing on the sand after the hike.

Always gorgeous views of the coastline, however the trail is steep with uneven footing in some places so make sure you’re steady on your feet

Absolutely loved this trail! There was one portion near the summit called "the crack" on the map that was Rocky, steep, and a bit challenging but otherwise moderate. The views once you get above the fog are absolutely stunning. Nice bits of shade for parts of the trail, but some long sections are exposed. I enjoyed one section of the trail so much that I looked back to complete it again, and I extended at the far end to explore Gray whale cove-- the views were worth it. 12.87 miles/4h23min. The trail is heavily trafficked by bikes so be sure to listen for them.

I’m a dog owner and love hiking with my pup, so the fact that it’s dog friendly is great. The fact that no one picks up their dog shit is not. I have never seen such a dirty trail. Also it gas a ton of those spiky little balls that got stuck in our dogs paws and we were constantly removing them. Otherwise nice views and pretty easy trail with some steep areas that are slippery due to the dirt.

This was a fantastic hike but it was more like 7 miles. Definitely download the map and do the route going counterclockwise- we almost got lost a bunch of times because there are almost no signage along the trail and lots of little forks and turnoffs. The first half of the hike was challenging - lots of ups and very steep. The trails were narrow and a bit overgrown. We were grateful for the steps at the top ! We loved the changing foliage and it was very pretty. We had sandwiches up at the top. The descent was super easy in comparison, the trail was wide and well paved. Wonderful morning, we finished in just under four hours.

Amazing views!

Good local workout trail. Partially shaded, plus foggy weather of Pacifica made it very doable in the afternoon. Recommend for trail running too! The view could be awesome if there is no fog.

Going counterclockwise is the key, better to hike in the am as there’s no shade around the peak. Had to check map constantly to make sure I was on the right track. Ocean view was so rewarding :D

This was a nice, short, and scenic hike. Wonderful views throughout the trail. After finishing this trail, we crossed the highway to take in the Gray Whale Cove and Beach. Glad we did! There’s a long set of stairs that help make getting to the beach easier! Just a few minutes south of Pacifica, a great trail for a quick hike! And the views!

Such a great hike along the cliffs with amazing views at the top. The parking is a little confusing cause it’s also parking for another hike, but the entrance is back towards the highway. Just trust the directions AllTrails gives!

Nice trail with a good steady 2 mile climb to the summit. Foggy day, so I didn't see the views but I'll definitely be back on a clear day.

I love this trail! It was so adorable and the views and path was beautiful. There was a lot of fog, which made the hike very refreshing and cool - it was nice to not be in the direct sun! We went at around noon and it took us about an hour and 15 minutes to finish the loop. There were other people hiking the loop as well, but it was by no means and overwhelming amount or anything that took away from our enjoyment. The beaches down below are stunning with the bluffs and dark sand. There were quite a few steep uphills and a lot of stew downhills that were a bit difficult and moderate level, but they were doable and we didn’t fall at all. The views were pretty diverse as well. Overall, I 100% percent recommend this amazing and cute hike!!!

Great trail to walk with dogs. Stunning view. Lots of native plants. Only problem was that some of the downhills were both steep and with loose gravel. Need some kind of shoes with tread.

Very good hike, all pavement and pretty easy. There are some inclines, poison ivy-but mostly off the trail. It’s perfect for kids 5+ and dogs. We took our dog and there are plenty of spots to stop throughout for rest breaks.

This is a great about 1hr long hike. The beginning of the trail is steep, will get a good workout. The last half of the trail gets very narrow. If it's not foggy there are nice views of Pacifica and the ocean.
