A nice mix of flora and fauna that changes as you ascend and descend. Loved it!

Def not easy, especially if you have any fear of cliffs and steep inclines near the edge of the Pacific but beautiful and peaceful. Also make sure to google map the parking lot, the directions here will just strand you on 1.

This trail was super fun. Was able to run for a good half of it. There is a lot of poison oak though, so long pants and caution is advised. gorgeous views even with fog. Once you get to the top, go to the cave. Much more satisfying than the electric plant on north peak.

There is a couple of benches towards the end of the trail that overlook the beach. Very beautiful coastal scenery! Visited 8/5/2018

Great hike. Easy to follow, not many people, well kept trail. Very eerie while it’s foggy which is pretty cool - makes you feel like you’re in the clouds.

First time trail running and this trail was perfect!

Fun hike! It gets steep at one point which makes going down a little difficult but just take your time and use small steps and your hands for support.

It was really beautiful with great views.

The beginning is steep, and it was pretty foggy the day we went. The fog was actually kind of cool, though. Good 1:30ish hour hike.

Love Montara Mountain

Great trail. Very diverse from one side to the other.
Not listed as a mountain biking trail. Found out the hard way in the last 1/2 mile when an old lady let me have it!
Beautiful for hiking!

great hike. love the ease of the area. some areas are more moderate but still beautiful. love all the wild life.

Absolutely beautiful! We had the trail all to ourselves from beginning to end! The efforts are well worth the views and as a beginning hiker, it was a perfect challenge to start kicking it up a notch.

Just a beautiful walk on the beach in Pacifica

Beautiful spot. There is an old rock quarry in the area that has been decommissioned. I have seen many mountain bikers in the area. All in all, a great place to watch wildlife whether that be in the ocean or along the coastal bluffs. Wildflowers are blooming now too.

Do wear your hiking shoes. Most of the trail is loose and dry gravel soil with a few very steep sections. Not recommended during or after a rain. Lots of small branching trails and some are completely encroached by surrounding vegetation making it easy to get lost, but because it's open land, you'll eventually find your way back to the trail.

Amazing views of the pacific. A bit close to the highway but a great way to unwind after work.

Some of the trails are not marked will read it if you times to find the right one but the views are very nice hike today

Beautiful trail and views! Very steep in some sections. There’s a sign just up the trail a bit which has a map showing a simple trail system, but it seemed there was only one “official” trail. Maybe that’s part of the trail restoration happening. I went later in the day and was the only person out there.

loved this trail. It's moderately hard, although I didn't end up going all the way up. it's shaded most of the places which makes it more enjoyable and easier to hike uphill..

Great family hike. Very beautiful views.

Great for hiking with kids and grandparents

Only negative is the limited parking, but it’s a great hike!

A favorite loop hike especially from Spring to June when wildflowers are still in bloom. For a moderate ascent this trail has it all: dramatic terrain adjacent to Montara Mountain, sweeping views of the San Pedro Valley, Pacific Ocean & Sweeney Ridge. The NATIVE flora is diverse and interesting - Check out the "FriendsofSanPedroValley.org" website for species lists. Some of the single track switchbacks have thick vegetation so get narrow by mid-spring but Park Maintenance has been through and widened recently.

Beautiful view.

my boyfriend and I did this trail today...very scenic, but when we got to the top I was expecting an awww moment...just a bushel of rocks, however we did hike over to the right and sat in a little rock cave that fit two people ate lunch, not what I thought when you get to the top, i would go back around 1pm or so. The hike up was definitely good exercise glad I had my hiking poles for on the way down. You have to go experience it yourself.

Pretty tough trail, we did a modified version with an extra excursion onto the Crack trail which has some nice rock scrambling; the descents can be tough so wear good shoes

Very nice view, not so difficult even for casual hiker, but prepare a good hiking shoes for small rocks along the trail, and don’t go in a windy day.
