Nice gradual climb with some expansive views at points

on Hazelnut Trail

Went counterclockwise on the Hazelnut Trail, finishing back to the parking lot via Weiler Ranch Trail. First mile or so wasn't great: lots of highway noises and nearby houses. Then things improved with scenic valley and ocean views. Overall, it was a pretty good hike. $6 to park.

Nice beach w trails

About 10 parking spots. Cars lined up to get one on a sunny Sunday.

Nice trail and great view of pacific + peninsula once you get to Sweeney ridge

Hiked in the rain and hail today ... this is my local trail and definitely a must .. well groomed and beautiful. Nice incline .. once finished I continued back on Weiler Ranch and took the Valley View trail ... all in all about 6 miles . Nothing like hiking in the rain ( I was prepared for it) .

The road to Adobe Drive in Pacifica used to be known as Planet of the Apes Road by mountain bikers. Old road grade from McNee is easy to intermediate viewpoint for a short workout. Leaves out the final leg to Montara Mtn. About 1.5 hours.

An easy to moderate climb with well worn footpaths, gorgeous views of coast line, San Francisco and even a glimpse of GGB. Love the less trafficked upper trail with more exposed rocks and a wonderful view of the steep rock faces of the mountain.

I got there just before 9am and there were only two other vehicles there. I went alone and felt totally safe and absolutely loved it. It was uphill the whole time but it wasn’t crazy or too hard! Take water, for sure! And by the time I finished at 11, there were quite a few more vehicles and I was passing other people and could hear others on the trail. If you want more of a quiet solo hike, start early.

Fantastic hike with incredible coastal views

Easy to moderate hike with great views. Various steep hill paths that can make this more challenging.

Easy hike for kids and being dog friendly is a huge bonus.
Views are gorgeous. Parking is busy but didn’t have to wait long (came around 3 pm on gorgeous Saturday)
Easy access to additional trails

I wouldn't call this a trail. More like a climb on a cliff among slippery rocks. nice views but not at all a hike.

A great hike with stunning views. We parked the car on the street since the Park closes at 5pm. It can be a strenuous hike. Take plenty of water.

Found parking difficult, probably because of the beach. Nice trail though and only a few other pups which is good for our not so good pup. It’s also very narrow and exposed so bring sunscreen and water.

Beautiful trail. Our 11-yr old and 8-yr old did it with us. Uphill half the way. Mostly covered until you get to the top. Ocean views abound. Highly recommended

Fun! User/Unmarked trails make it a harder hike.

Just did the loop a long timw ago...

Nice trail close to HMB. Just enough of a climb to keep the heart rate up.

The views are beautiful. Usually quite with few people. Also, you can take different pathways to make the hike easy or a little more difficult. Perfect for a nice short hike .

Easy hike with nice views. Parking and beach access available at both ends. No restrooms.

I recommend going clockwise. The first section of the trail is being refinished. Some switchbacks and steeper sections, but overall nice mix of up-and-down to keep it interesting.

Truly one of the prettiest trails . I consider moderate to hard for being such a short trail. Cannot beat the views up there. The trails are nicely maintained and manicured . The Middle Ridge down to Arroyo is no longer- just dead ends and turn back.

Amazing views!!!

Nice for a quick day trip or exploring

Season waterfall

Great hike! Beautiful! Remember if you park in the lot at the base it’s 6 dollar self pay.

Tough first half

very short trail a bit of hill in the beginning and at the turn around but nothing too crazy. the biggest thing is that the parking lot is not to the South of the restaurant as is mentioned in the description but actually to the North. Additionality, the start finish parking lot recommended here is a bit small so I recommend parking at the larger lot at Gray Whale Cove then hiking south to Montara opposed to starting at Montara and hiking north to Gray Whale Cove.

Nice view along the trail. Easy walk most of the way. Most of the trail is quite exposed, so make sure wear sunscreen. The trail is probably more suited for cooler days (like winter), I imagine it’d be too hot and too exposed for hot summer days.
