Great hike. Plan well, though. Lots of water or a water filter and snacks. Once you start you'll come to a fork. The lower trail is harder with more changes in elevation and more rocky obstacles where the top trail still has some but not as much. About 3 miles in (we started on the lower trail) you come to a wooden sign that says falls. Follow it, obviously...lol you're about 0.5miles to your destination. At that sign the other trail is the other way out. Towards the end there's a railing. If you look to the right just as the railing turns and takes you to the left there's an unmarked but obvious trail up to the top of the water falls. It's about .25 mile but so worth it!

A Jere's Jaunts hike. My brother and I set a good pace but Marty blew our doors off. I think he believes all hikes are a workout/competition. Lots of switchbacks on this trail but a good mix of scenery and the falls itself is really nice, one of the larger in our area.

Excellent hike! Fairly level with some up-and downs on the upper trail, more significant elevation changes on the lower. Lots of mosquitoes, so bring bug spray! Outlook point at the end is 100% worth it, bring a lunch and enjoy it at the end with a great view.

Feather Falls is beautiful, sacred and majestic. The trail has spectacular views. Truly a spiritual journey.

This was a pretty hike and not that long.. the water fall was dry at this time of the year but there was still a little running water! Still a great trail with many pretty wild flowers

Gravel road runs along the river...flat. views of the Feather River, Table Mountain, and the O.
As of Feb 2018, the trail is blocked a little past the 34 mile marker (trail head at 31 mile marker near bath house).
pretty!

The parking lot is hard to find google maps gives bad directions to the trailhead. After we made it to the trail the falls were hard to find. The trail is not clearly marked further in. We made it to the grove went right at the fork and eventually the path we were on was gone. Will try again next spring. Try to find a real map before going.

Beautiful trail.

This was a very confusing yet beautiful hike the flowers were so pretty but the trail
Was not marked or maintained at all we just kinda keep going with what we thought was a trail until we came across the waterfall

Sunday, May 20, 2018 is the day we went on this hike. I read through the reviews and it helped to stay on the right path to the falls. The trail isn't really present. Like everyone said, stay to the left and once you hit the fork go to the right. There wasn't much of a waterfall when we went but still fun. No shade.

Beautiful hike. Would recommend taking the left fork going in and the opposite side of the loop out for an easier route. Bring lots of bug spray for yourself and your dogs. There's a good amount of shade throughout the hike.

Right on! This is my favorite so far.

Went on this hike at the end of April and it was absolutely beautiful. The trail was terribly crowded for the hike out, but then we did get a late start that day. You get some great views and some great photos this time of year.

Poor trail markers but excellent hike.

Follow the map here and you won’t get lost. Stay to the right and you shouldn’t get lost.

Went with my wife, inexperienced 5 year old and 60+ mother. All of us did great thanks to the cool weather and smooth trail. There were multiple creeks we walked along, which supported many wildflowers and animal life. Great views of rolling hills as well. We walked in mid-May, so the wildflowers we less numerous (but so were the crowds) and the waterfall was very low. Had no regrets, still was a lot of fun.

The geology is stunning once you reach the canyon! Wildflowers are at the tail of their bloom and Phantom Falls doesn't have much flow, but still beautiful and worth the hike. The trail is not well marked though and ran into many people trying to find their way to Phantom falls.

Love this hike gorgeous gorgeous waterfall worth the hike in. Lots of mosquitos today glad we took repellant. Always lots of friendly families with kids and dogs. This is a great family hike.

I will start by saying I am a novice hiker. I lost the trail early and had an impossible time finding it. I found a different trail with marked posts that I followed until their was no more path to follow. The first waterfall is very close to the start and is was worth the brief meandering I did. 3 stars cause of that.

Love this hike. The view is great, we went in January. I recommend the extended hike pass the overlook to get to the top of the waterfall. There were a few downed trees that we had to go over or under, along the path. I’ve done the lower trail back and forth as well as the upper trail back and forth. Lower has more streams and shade. Upper has a nice small waterfall.. we did not run into any bugs during January but I have heard that gnats can be a issue during later months as well as mosquitoes.

Very beautiful. We did this hike on 4/13/2018, Parking lot to Hollow falls, then across to Ravine falls, then Phantom falls then down to the pools about 1/2 mile past phantom in Flag Canyon.
The flowers were out in full bloom and it was beautiful. I returned to view again on 4/19/2018.

Hit 3 waterfalls. Beautiful wildflowers April 29th. Trail is well defined up to 2nd waterfall, no trail after 2nd waterfall to Phantom Falls. Do NOT follow our path out, we were lost until coming back. Very busy by 10am. Portapotties at trailhead

Got out there before the crowds hit but I definitely wasn’t expecting that many people. Got a bit crowded on the way out. Fun little adventure. I went off trail and explored a bit. It was good but a one and done for me. Not that spectacular.

great hike, awesome waterfall.

Very scenic. Best hiked in April on a cloudy day, the wild flowers stand out much more. Go all the way to the top of the falls. We prefer to go a bit past as well to get a different perspective.

Very crowded. Overall it was a nice walk, easy for kids. Nice waterfall and wild flowers along the way.

Great trail hike the views are worth the hike. start to the trail on the left all down hill great photo ops, and on the way out go left nice easy gradual hike back out.

The whole place was a muddy over hyped cow pasture.

Solid. You can make it tomorrow steep or easy and either way you see the falls and the top of the river.
