It was our first time going to Redwood Regional Park and didn’t expect it was this nice. This trail has good views and is an easy hike. Weather was nice this weekend as well. Definitely going back!!

Beautiful walk, most of it in the shade and alongside a stream. The only caveat: the last mile to mile and a half is STEEPLY uphill, and may be too much for some casual hikers. Otherwise, I had a terrific time, and will definitely be going back.

Simple walk down to Lake Anza, ok for kids but a little slippery underfoot. Ok for dogs too.

Pleasant morning hike. Trail not busy and lovely views of the watershed.

You're basically just walking on the road around the lake. There is no trail.

A trail so full of beautiful wildlife. very easy 7 mi in & back. we saw a family of deer, rabbits, a variety of birds, and a rattlesnake. Check in is at trailhead for EBMUD permit info. No dogs.

Beautiful location. One of my favorite running spots. Just watch out for the gang of geese.

Excellent trail that is mostly single track out and back along Briones reservoir. I've seen plenty of deer on this trail and being along the water many different types of waterfowl and hawks. The trail itself doesn't have any long, tough hills but is just a little up and down roll most of the time. It was one of my favorite little trails around the bay.

Couldn't even go on the trails bc they all require permits. That you have to get from other parks.

Nice little trail I always did along with other trails. Very shady and can be done any time. It drops off Bear creek with a little drop in elevation and is almost entirely in the shade.. The 1st right is a trail that goes up to Briones res. A little farther up towards San Pablo on a day I was solo I got within 10' of a half dozen deer. Memorable day...

You can do bear Creek Trail without a permit but to do the backside of Briones Res you have to have a EBMUD permit that you can get at their office on the way to San Pablo Res nearby. Cheap and well worth it and is good for several years and allows others to go with you. The loop around the lake is 16 miles I think and is a great hike.

you need a permit and the water walk does not allow dogs

13.5? Make that 16.5miles with 1800' of elevation gain according to Strava. This is a serious hike. Took us 5hrs to complete.

Overall I would not recommend at this time. The trails on the north side are completely beat up by a combo of the rain and cow tracks. It's brutal on the feet and ankles, not to mention, not very much fun.

This would be a 4 star hike if it wasn't for the beat up trail.

A long hike -- 1/2 marathon! Don't forget to get your trail permit. Fun to walk around a lake. Saw hawks, Canada geese, turkeys, crows, swallows. Early spring day was sunny and warm. Most of the hike is pretty open, so it's probably pretty warm in the summer. There's a nice section in a beautiful, cool grove of grizzled oaks. Some benches in this section for quiet contemplation.
