Absolutely beautiful trail. It still amazes me that you can hike through a spectacular Redwood forest and end up on the beach (and a undeveloped beach)! We recorded about 12 miles total to get all the way to the beach for lunch and then head back. Saw very few people and felt complete solitude. Amazing scenery and energy. Definitely recommend.

Easy trail with educational stops. Great weather.

Prairie> Big Tree>Cathedral was a great loop! I highly recommend it, easy, and beautiful trail.

Great hike

LOVE! You have to do this! We went and there was nobody there and it was gorgeous :)

Came here on a Wednesday @2pm. becomes "off road" about 3 miles before the trail head. Unfortunately, my scion xb wouldn't make it to the head (due to "creek" more like puddle) all the way so we parked about a little over a mile before getting to the head. My friend and I didn't mind at all, it made the hike a little longer. The actual hike was beautiful, where good shoes, and take a camera. :)

This was just stunning. I highly suggest this to everyone. It wasn't a long or difficult hike/walk, and absolutely majestic.

Loved it! This has to be the most beautiful place I've ever been too! I spent a week in the Redwoods and I made sure to hit this trail twice :)

Absolutely beautiful hike. Short and easy, but the trees in the grove are an amazing sight to behold.

We started this trail by the Big Tree parking lot. We went around the Circle trail and came across this trail. It is a fairly easy trail among beautiful tall Sequoia trees. It was a rare sunny day, but the tree tops kept us mostly shaded and cool. It was an awesome hike.

If you want to mix it up from just viewing Redwood trees I’d say this is a must do. While there were footbridges in place, and well placed rocks/logs, just plan on getting your feet wet. The trail makes a loop and returns via the forest on top of the canyon but I think most people do it as an out and back through the canyon as that’s the most interesting part. It’s a bit of a drive on a winding gravel road through the trees to get here, and it’s a day use fee area (unless you have a parks pass or other), but it’s worth it for this hike and the secluded stretch of coast.

Easy hike beautiful views!!

16 mile loop if you start at Orick Rodeo Grounds. Beautiful trail work just enough technical aspects to make it interesting. It was a pleasant surprise to run across a water trough for the horses at just over the halfway mark.

Gorgeous hike without a lot people on the trail.

Just hiked 7.5 miles up this trail last weekend. There aren't any stunning views but the forest is very peaceful and quiet. We only saw one other person on a Saturday on Labor Day weekend. The trail is an old logging road so it's wide and gravelly. It was a moderate hike, with some steep sections but ultimately not that hard.

Beautiful prairie!

Two words: Enchanted Forest. I've been on quite a handful of hikes, mostly on the East Coast, however, nothing has compared to what I saw here in the Redwoods. Such beauty and magic. Please note this is not a hike for "views" or a "workout", but rather to immerse yourself in the beauty of mother nature.

Steep initial gain to nice rolling trail among big trees! Beautiful!

Just an amazing hike with every step a picture perfect opportunity. Very family friendly but like others have mentioned, water shoes or waterproof hiking boots are a good idea. Don’t go in a hurry, and enjoy natures artwork.

Good to walk :)

trail was fine. lots of traffic and the parking lot was atrocious. once you got on the trail it was fine though. self guided tour was pretty cool also. this is a super easy introductory hike. take your friends who don't hike kind of hike.

This was a great “break up the drive” loop we took with our kids while driving down the 199. It is kid-friendly, lots of parking, with great views of the ocean.

So beautiful! A must see!

Beautiful, peaceful, easy hike! Well worth the drive back to the trailhead. My husband and I did this hike at 0900 and were the only ones around. Wear waterproof shoes/sandals as your feet will get wet. They filmed a scene from The Lost World Jurassic Park here if that excites you as well.

Short and to the point, this trail was an easy one and if you take the effort to drive up to the grove, you may as well walk the whole loop. Tons of beautiful trees and not a lot of people, as we went later in the afternoon when visitors were few and the light was perfect. Would highly recommend it if you’re in the area.

Rigorous, especially for kids. But worth the walk for the views and the adventure. Parts of the trail are slippery and the way back is a climb, but we all enjoyed it.

Great for trail running - wide old road bed so no brushing past bushes as you run. Nothing exciting in terms of views, as another reviewer said, but if you’re looking for a place to get a run in on a relatively flat trail, this is great.

Astoundingly beautiful, even though well trafficked. Easy, even for older, less active folks. I suggest water shoes, you'll get your ankles wet unless you can cross the shallow river/creek on a log (easily done if you have someone with you to hold your hand). So worth the drive on a very narrow, sometimes dirt road riddled with blind turns. Loved it!
