Along for the ride this easy ride was an enjoyable one to the look out tower where The ranger was very welcoming and informative. If you want a nice ride this is one to do with family.

Beautiful views even with smoke. Would recommend poles and plenty water.

Great trail that is basically straight up to a beautiful little lake. Awesome for cardio or getting into zone 4 quickly. We did it with our 8yr old and 4yr old. The younger needed a few breaks but was really pumped when she finally made it! Footwear wise, I did it in Chacos and a lot of folks were in sneaks. If you're going to wear boots make sure they're broken in. Up and down is what breeds blisters with new boots.

This place has been added as one of my favorite hikes, it is so secluded and breathtaking. To see this Lake was amazing and hearing the water boil and seeing steam come from the water blew my mind! Water temperature is about 125 degrees. Totally worth checking out, so much beauty to see and it isn’t a very popular spot which is so surprising but I guess that’s a good thing:)

Great place, beautiful scenery, hike up is not to shabby, my 5 year old son loved leading the way. We hiked on the more difficult path on the way back shorter distance. Beautiful views, overall I would say it’s an easy hike and the falls were worth checking out.

The return trip is a doozy with much of the elevation gain in that portion. (Especially in the switchbacks coming up from the campground.) But the views are outstanding and you get to see several different natural habitats of rocky cliffs up high, highland grasses and fields, wooded hillsides, geothermal springs, and low lying marshes in the valley.

Definitely one to check off your list, classic Lassen beauty. Down hill all the way in, and you know what that means. must do for the hiker looking for a easy but great hike.

Loved this hike. We saw a momma bear with her two cubs on our way down to the falls. Thought we saw it all at the falls until we hiked up the one way trail on our way back, breathtaking... highly recommend this hike.

this is a really easy day hike, but my friend and I went backpacking and spent the night near one of the lakes.
It was great that we decided to do this loop clockwise, so we hardly had any uphill climbs except for the first mile or so. after the first lake though, there's hardly any shade for the next 3-4 miles because of the fires a few years ago. it was still cool and breezy, even though the sun was beating down on us hard.
lower twin lakes was my favorite view, but we decided go a bit further and camped at upper twin lakes. we had to look for a bit to find a flat enough area to pitch the tent at, but it was good. we also heard a bear stomping around our tent at night, but he didn't bother us at all. apparently, it's very common there, especially at the upper twin lakes. so, as long as you're prepared, it's all good.

it was my friend's first ever backpacking trip and she slayed it. it was a great experience. highly recommended for beginners

Excellent trail. We did it clockwise. The first 5-6 miles are very desolate from forest fire years ago. After Feather Lake forest is plentiful. We ended up pushing to Upper Twin Lake to camp on the East side where is was relatively flat. Lakes are shallow and great to swim in. Moderate ups and downs. Many deer but not much else for wildlife although we heard of bears a few miles away.
Moderate elevation at 6500-7000ft most of the time. Easy to get to trail head at summit lake. About 1 hour east of Redding.

Well maintained trail. Continual uphill but manageable. Use restroom at trailhead and carry water. Hundreds of thousands butterflies, awesome Visited early on a Monday and crowds were thin. I’d have to recommend Trekking poles. Even under smoky conditions views were good.

Perfect for the hot summer months.

Do the whole loop around the lake. The view from the opposite side includes Mt. Lassen.

It has been 20 years since I last hiked this loop and it was just as beautiful as I remembered. The northern part of the loop is a bit crispy from the fires but still gorgeous in its own way.

My wife and are Day hikers, we are in our fifties and this hike was perfect for us, went clockwise around the loop,I found the burnt area kinda interesting, had a different vibe, met some cool people from London on the short span of the PCT that we were on, we are locals so next time we will spend a night or two at one of the killer lakes that are here, I feel it's the best trail in the park.

Another perfect hike, this 5 mile stair climber goes up about 2000 feet via a well-maintained trail of switchbacks and through snow and glacier fields. The top is at the weather station and solar panels and is a fairly easy climb if you are careful about where you step. The crushed rock and sand can be slick on smooth rocks. We had a perfect day and were surrounded with thousands of migrating tortoiseshell butterflies. Trail was very busy the week of July 4th, with some folks skiing on the snow fields. If you visit Lassen, don't miss this hike! And take your shoes off in Lake Helen afterwards.

Such and amazing view and close to my campground. The reflection off the lake of lassen peak was so beautiful! Manzanita campground was crowded but also has some awesome amenities and located in such a great spot! I loved this little loop you don’t even have to do the whole thing you could just walk around find the perfect view and chill! Also stayed around end of July 2017

Hiked this last year. The waterfall is a bit underwhelming but the high light was the bear in the meadow chilling and eating. Beautiful hike and scenery tho and a river to cool off in if you’d like to.

Enjoyed the trail it is always calming to be around the waters edge.

Peaceful walk even if there was smoke in the air from a fire on the backside of Lassen. Maybe next time we might try kayaking.

Great hike! Up up and up! Perfect blue skies and tons of butterflies. Then took a refreshing dip in Lake Helen after to sooth the muscles. If you’re in a Lassen, it’s a must-do!

This is a beautiful hike! We parked at the King’s Creek picnic area and walked to the trail. We saw bear cubs with their mom, beautiful meadows, and lots of deer! The hike is pretty easy to the waterfall (which is slightly anticlimactic after all the gorgeous scenery), but the climb back up is pretty difficult. Not a hike for those who can’t climb up steep rock stairs and it’s pretty slippery. The Trail did continue further, but we ran out of daylight and had to turn around at the falls. Definitely worth it though!
Bring a map with you! They do not mark the trail heads well.

Fun hike with a cool late at the end. Hike is steep like everyone says but it's not terrible. The "lakes" are just one lake right now as the water is high and connects the two little lakes. We took a break and swam for an hour, great way to cool off. Right before the lake don't miss all the green grass where the stream comes right out of the ground and goes all the way down past the parking lot, very cool to see right where it starts, especially since you can see right where it comes out of the ground!

So much to see on this one loop!

Easy trail, awesome scenery. There was even a bear roaming around.

Very cool hike! Up up and more up! We went with my 3 and 8 year old. They both made it to the interpretive signs near the top in their own. I carried my 3 year old in my backpack up the past section that is a little precarious. The first 95% of the trail is very moderate... Just all uphill. The only part of this hike that should qualify it as difficult is the last couple hundred yards which you could easily not do if you didn't feel like it and you'd still feel accomplished having made it up to the first little summit area.

Very quiet area. Didn't see anyone else except on the first and last part of the trail that also goes to the falls. Lake is not the most beautiful but we enjoyed it and took a refreshing swim in it.

Nice waterfall. Trail was in very good condition. My 3 year old walked to the falls herself then rode in the backpack up to bench lake which was barely a puddle and then on to Sifford lake and around the loop back to the trailhead. Sifford was a nice quiet lake. Didn't see anyone else up there. My son and I swam in the lake. The bottom was pretty mushy but it was refreshing once you got out deeper.

I was out in California visiting a friend and we were driving through the park and randomly decided to do the hike to watch the sunset. A pair of shorts, tank top and flipflops was not the right outfit ... definitely bring a jacket or warm clothing for the top. Regardless of the chill it was totally worth the hike and one of the best sunsets I've ever seen! I will definitely do it again a little more prepared next time.
