Trails are well kept and found some very clean bathrooms at the park. Large variety of plants and the streams and ponds were cool. Saw two COYOTES on the trail. They looked scared and went on their way. Will be back!

Dog poop everywhere. What is it about dog owners who think they aren’t responsible for picking up after their pets. Disgusting.

Nicely paved trail for a direct pedestrian/bike route to the harbor, avoiding all automobile traffic until you get to the coast. Great for avoiding oblivious drivers and not having to deal with the nightmare of parking near the beach. Safe environment filled with walkers, runners, cyclists, families, dogs and their humans.

beautiful walk

It’s like on the main trail lacks view of the lake. Paths not well marked.

I enjoyed this hike and not to bad of one either

Walked along the pier and all over Oceanside (22,000 steps according to my fitbit). The water and beach was really nice and clean looking.

Easy very clear wide dirt trails. Can be easy to get mixed up on which route to take as there are numerous options but it’s never a problem getting back to where you started.

Great bike trail. Safe.

No dogs?? I and a million other people walk their dogs on this paved trail every day wth

Nice trail to bring the parents for an easy evening stroll!

We arrived at 7:30am. The fog was still low, so the temperature was perfect and scenery was still pretty. Saw lots of ducks, a heron, and an egret on the water.

My heart sings when I see the pier.

I remember watching it be destroyed in the 80's by an insane storm when I was roughly 7-8 years old. My uncle Albert, an avid surfer at the time was devisated by the damage left by the storm. I also remember my grandmother going at him pretty good for taking me outside during that storm.

I met the most wonderful Hawaiian girl named Sam next to the Pier... That was a great summer!

My HS class picture was taken on the base of the pier. Go Pirates! I have dozens of stories about this great place. I can go on and on.... The sunsets here are a must see. I highly recommend stopping in Oceanside and walking the pier at least ounce in your life.

This is a great hike for any day and weather. pushing 90 outside, and with the wind, made for an excellent time out.

Underestimated the Trail, but was a Good one Started at 6:30 am. Made it to the Top GREAT VIEW

This is a great trail for biking as it goes on for miles with no street crossing to make. Beautiful scenery and tranquil away from road noise. You can really get going fast if you feel the need. We saw Sky Divers descending from the clouds on the way back as we rode past the Oceanside Airport!

Great flats and hills to practice on. Not too many people. Impossible to get lost in. Easy 5 miler.

Trails need to be marked clearer Not the worst but not the best

Beautiful and relaxing walk!

Great place for simple exercise walk or Mtb.
Coyotes. Rabbits. Squirrels. Raccoons. Snakes.
And I think I spotted a Weasel!
Ducks and Geese in the big lake.
Plenty of camping with just-upgraded sites.
Reservations needed.
Some very LOUD Peacocks in a nearby yard.

Nice local trail, only 10 minutes from home, great outing for families. It’s appalling that people won’t pick up after their dogs; don’t see this on the Batiquitos trail, more civilized hikers, it seems.

Beautiful scenery. Away from any roads. Trail not marked and a bit hard to navigate

Very beautiful and scenic easy hike. Perfect for close by hike

Really nice trails, very wide. Lots of friendly people out. Bathrooms by the playground. You can either park in the park and pay $3 or you can walk a little extra and park down the road in the neighborhoods. Very dog friendly, lots of trash cans too.

The wind is chilly every time I come here. Good views and good vibes.

The mission is nice but this is more running through neighborhoods than hiking or trail running.
