Fairly well kept trail with moderate hills. Good hike to do early morning or evening; would definitely do again.

Watch out for horse poop! Was not too busy and the people that were there were friendly. Pretty view of the city. Would do it again. Easy hike and the dog handled it well. :)

nice walk to kill some time.

my five year old and I did this he loved it

A couple a different trails to choose from, one easy, one not to easy, but doable. This trail is not hard and the view at the top is very nice. Would definitely do it again.

Pretty easy, short hike if you’re only going to the rock itself. It’s a really dusty trail with a lot of horse poop, but I wasn’t surprised since it’s so heavily traveled by horses. When we went, there was actually an event going on at the equestrian center below, so we took our dog over to watch after the hike. The people were very nice and courteous to us.

Took a different way this time and went a little further then the pumpkin. I love this hike now. Not too easy but not too difficult.

For anyone new to this trail you can park at Pikes peak park and walk to the trail. It’s nice a great begging trail for people like me who are working their way back up to hiking.

This was great as there are two ways to go up/down. Cool graffiti to take photos by and a nice breeze at the top (end of November). Be careful as there is a lot of broken glass at the top however. I liked that you can pretty much see the entire trail from the top so you can decide which way to go back for you. Not too busy and not too many dogs and not too many horses. Just enough to say hi to.

great anual hike to do in October

I am new to hiking so it was definitely a workout. But plan to do it again when I am in a little better shape and see the difference.

Virtual Hike: https://youtu.be/Y-k3wI7lq8g

I hiked here recently because of the Halloween season. I had heard about Pumpkin Rock through a friend and decided to come out from LA to check it out. Seeing pumpkin rock surpassed all my expectations. There are quite a number of ways to hike up to Pumpkin Rock, although I chose to take the route where Apple Maps indicates the start of the trail. The trail starts alongside a golf course and goes up the ridge of a fairly barren hill with chaparral. Once at the top of the hill, continue hiking over a somewhat flat slight decline from hill top to hilltop until you run into Pumpkin Rock. You really can’t miss it, it’s bright orange. There’s a bunch of cool graffiti and smaller “pumpkin rocks nearby, so there’s a lot to see. Some of the graffiti is better than others, although there are some very artsy pieces. The views from Pumpkin Rock are spectacular. You can see over the town of Norco, and on the other side you can see one of the valleys just south of Riverside. I highly recommend this hike, especially this time of year. Get festive and go hike this one for Halloween.

Hope you enjoy!

The hike was very clean, there were many trails available. I was pleased that I saw no liter, just graffiti, which is typical. I took my kids (8 and 15) with no troubles. Will go back again!

There were some steep bits that had some tricky footing, but the view was great. I went pretty far off the trail, but it was well worth it because the view for better the higher I got. I definitely recommend going higher that the trail if you have the time and energy.

Great hike! So fun for Oktoberfest and getting in the Halloween Spirt!

Good little hike with a nice pic spot at the top I gave it a 3.5 cuz of the photo op.‍♂️

A little paved road leading all the way up to locked gates. great view on top.

This is a fun hike. Although a started at Doty Trust park I still consider this hike as completed. I like this hike from the Doty Trust park starting point because there are two steep points. The beginning at Doty Trust and then the descent from the second peak which is pretty long. all and all, a great hike!

for kids this hike is amazing, big colorful pumpkin rocks, beautiful views , be prepare to get dirty since there is lots of dirt and dust ! is a moderate hike if you are in good athletic shape and your kids do hiking often if not you still have a lot of fun at this trail ! dont forget to bring water and snacks !

Nice easy hike. Took our 2.5 year old and baby. Fun scenery. Will do it again

Not for me. I was excited to see the pumpkin rock but it was so covered in graffiti I couldn't take a decent picture. I walked it with my 18 month old on my back. Definitely a good workout for me but not much for my daughter to enjoy. And it was a little dangerous coming back down because there were steep spots and loose gravel.

Beautiful Hiking with my family and friends

This is a great conditioning hike; about the first mile is uphill so expect a great glute/hamstring workout. The trail is paved, and leads to a utility building that is fenced off. Up and back with a little side trip to the cell tower took us 55 minutes with 2 dogs. Great view of the Hidden Valley golf course at the top. This is a lot more intense than Pumpkin Rock, but it doesn’t have any other trail options once you get to the top. Watch your dogs, as we saw a pretty beefy coyote at the top.
