Great trail but that Poles section was tough! Bring lots of water, there is no shade on this trail!

loved this hike, is a great start for beginners

Great trail for a beginner trail runner. Nice shade and scenery and not too hilly.

Well maintained trails that were pretty easy. This is a nice place for being in the middle of the city. There is no shade but the views are great. Not a great place if trying to get away due to location, traffic noise and airport noise but it was a great place to go to get out of the hotel room without fighting traffic.

Rode this loop a few times while staying with my family at the Newport Dunes. Perfect for the single speed mountain bike I brought with me for the trip. Highly recommend this ride if you're staying there.

So far the best hike ever! Hiked the ELEVATOR! It was a beast so make sure your on beast mode when you take it!!! We even seen a huge deer! I highly recommend this hike if you want a challenge. We did 9.1 miles in 3.22 hours. Via No Name Ridge to Moro Ridge to Elevator.

This is a great trail for families because there is a paved trail you can walk on if you have strollers or wheelchairs. Dogs are allowed on a leash. You wan venture off the paved trails to add a little more difficulty to your hike but I would still say this is an easy trail and great for beginners. There are bikers you need to watch for if you're on the paved trails. The views are great here and you get cool ocean breeze.

a bit short and too close to the city but the scenery is amazing if you like creeks and rivers.

Nice little hike, I just did it going down and I really like it, found a couple creeks, and wild life.

Arrived later in the afternoon so didn't have enough time to go far on the trail, but at least got an idea of the surroundings. Trail had a lot of canopy on either side with some wildlife. Decent view of some of the homes on surrounding canyons. Moderately easy trail that would be ideal for a beginner level mountain bike. Will return on another time to explore the trail further.

The Buck Gully Trail leading to the Bobcat trail was very cool. The gully was very green with a small river and we saw some bunnies. Also some very pretty flowers. The hike to the top of the bobcat trail was steep but the view at the top was pretty nice.

Free so I can’t complain. Some elevated portions, overall easy

Trail was easy enough to hike. There were some uphills that made for a nice workout, but the very end of the trail led was a little disappointing. We hiked up a steep hill to the very top to be greeted by a view of houses and not much else. The bridges, creeks and trees on the way were nice though. Lots of shade.

If you live near the path it would be a great place to walk your dog. However, I will probably not drive here again, even if it's only from HB.

No shade. You can park in the lot off of Irvine or on the street along Jamboree which we had to do since it was OC Marathon Weekend. The planes over head were very annoying and so were the mountain bikers - too fast for an area like this.

Tip: sunscreen, a hat, and maybe some ear plugs.

This was a great little hike. I would have given it five stars but I still could see houses the whole time. Some shade and lots of mountain bikes!

It’s moderate to hard, great workout due to all the hills.

Nice easy walk!

Nice place to go for a walk. Multiple trails and there is a info center

Great work out. This loop has a lot if great hills to climb. Poles Trail is a bitch! Lol.

Not sure why it says $15 to park above-this is the back way to El Moro and you just park on street free.

It's a little too easy but I brought someone who is not an experienced hiker & this was perfect. You can get in at least 5 miles & there is hardly anyone on this trail.

Great hike. Took about 2 hrs round trip. It’s actually more than 4.5 mi. A little over 5 mi. according to our calculations. Some views, some shade, a nice stream, a few bridges. Nice variety.

We had hiked Crystal Cove a few times and enjoyed it. I did a quick google search and came across this one and I had never heard of it. We parked on San Joaquin Rd., our total hike was 4.9 miles. We were pleasantly surprised with the shade that the nearby hills and the trees provided...about half the hike was shaded. It was great to hear the water running...we were curious as to the origin of the water. The sound of the birds added to the experience. A downfall would be the narrow paths that you have to share with mountain bikers. It was awesome to see the view of the Pacific toward the end of our hike. Overall, it was a pleasant hidden gem.

I guess how you feel about this place depends on how you plan to use it. Could be fun on a bike (track bike) since it is all paved and don't have to worry about lots of traffic. Could be good for a family with young kids since and a stroller would be feasible. Could be good for joggers. I went with my dog to hike and there are no dirt trails, there is excessive debris in the water/plants and there is a funky sewage smell in places.

Easy trail with kids

One side of loop doesn’t allow cars and the other side only allows cars in one direction so it’s a very calming/peaceful walk, run or bike ride. Very flat except in one small/short area. Nice waterway views all along trail.

Beautiful quiet trail. Has shaded areas, not much elevation gain, beautiful views of bridges.
Will be back again. #52hikechallenge

One of my favorites. Great views of the ocean.
