Well maintained trails that were pretty easy. This is a nice place for being in the middle of the city. There is no shade but the views are great. Not a great place if trying to get away due to location, traffic noise and airport noise but it was a great place to go to get out of the hotel room without fighting traffic.

Rode this loop a few times while staying with my family at the Newport Dunes. Perfect for the single speed mountain bike I brought with me for the trip. Highly recommend this ride if you're staying there.

This is a great trail for families because there is a paved trail you can walk on if you have strollers or wheelchairs. Dogs are allowed on a leash. You wan venture off the paved trails to add a little more difficulty to your hike but I would still say this is an easy trail and great for beginners. There are bikers you need to watch for if you're on the paved trails. The views are great here and you get cool ocean breeze.

I brought my dog for a walk here. The view is nice. There is a nice variety of plants and Wildlife to see. You can explore some cool, small spots that are a little off the trail which is fun. There are poop bag dispensers along the way. I did not give this trail five stars because of the planes that fly by all the time, loud streets near the trail and all the houses visible. But definitely worth going. Also, as someone mentioned in a previous review- I do not consider this a moderate trail.

If you live near the path it would be a great place to walk your dog. However, I will probably not drive here again, even if it's only from HB.

No shade. You can park in the lot off of Irvine or on the street along Jamboree which we had to do since it was OC Marathon Weekend. The planes over head were very annoying and so were the mountain bikers - too fast for an area like this.

Tip: sunscreen, a hat, and maybe some ear plugs.

Nice trail although I do not consider it “moderate”. It is an easy trail but fun

This is not a hike and I have no idea where the photo was taken for the title slide. The ENTIRE hike is a paved sidewalk through an upscale neighborhood. Very nice if you’re walking your dog or your baby stroller, but can hardly be described as a hike/trail. Be warned!

Nice easy walk!

Nice place to go for a walk. Multiple trails and there is a info center

I guess how you feel about this place depends on how you plan to use it. Could be fun on a bike (track bike) since it is all paved and don't have to worry about lots of traffic. Could be good for a family with young kids since and a stroller would be feasible. Could be good for joggers. I went with my dog to hike and there are no dirt trails, there is excessive debris in the water/plants and there is a funky sewage smell in places.

One side of loop doesn’t allow cars and the other side only allows cars in one direction so it’s a very calming/peaceful walk, run or bike ride. Very flat except in one small/short area. Nice waterway views all along trail.

Free parking at the park across the start of the trail.

nice walking in the morning

easy flat trails with great views.

I have directions for a nice 3 mile loop on HikingGuy dot com

great place for a walk, a jog, a hike, a run.. everything!

The bridge is closed. But a good path is closer to the water. If you do all the loops it will in zigzag fashion 6miles

Fun trail to walk or run. You can also take a ferry across the water ($1 for pedestrians, $1.25 for pedestrians with bikes, & $3 for cars) to Balboa Island for shopping, cafes/restaurants, and public beach access. Highly recommend stopping by Balboa Island if you do this trail.

One of my favorite go-to spots when I want some fresh air and walk my pup.

very nice run or walk. No bikes allowed. Walk way is between beautiful homes and the ocean. The homes have gorgeous plants and scenery. There is also a small town to stop for food drinks or shopping!

Great hike with kids! There's basically 3 levels of hiking. A paved route, an easy dirt route and a slightly more challenging one with steps and inclines. Lots of wildlife, including rabbits, squirrels, lizards, birds and even a coyote. It's near OC airport, so even low flying planes overhead.

Good for a chilly day. No shade for hot days. Very crowded and not very scenic.

This was an easy trail. We were lucky that there was very little traffic. We took our soon to be 3 year old on this trail without any problems. Definitely recommend if you are looking for a peaceful day outdoors.

Beautiful. A walk more than a hike.

Easy, you can see the airplanes taking off from John Wayne airport.

Love the trail! Wish the bicyclists would keep it at 10 mph and give a passing side and number of cyclists in your group along with their bell ringing on the trail. When you're coming from behind I know which way to step and keep us all safe.

Really easy trail for all types of activities. Jogging, hiking, walking, or even biking! You can even drive it (one way) for part of it. There is a dirt trail but also a paved trail for bikes. For biking, it is a 10 mile loop and fairly flat. I bike it using a hybrid - any bike will do here. There are 2 steep parts, but it isn't so bad - for the most part this loop is very flat. I don't break out a sweat when I bike it, so it is nice and enjoyable if you just want some fresh air with some beautiful scenery. Watch out for horse poop on some parts of it. You'll see lots of rabbits in the early morning and evening.

I walked on the paved road portion with my 2 y/o in the stroller. Great walk! Next time we will both hike the dirt trails! Will come back her again
