Trash and graffiti everywhere.

Definitely on the moderate side, not easy. It's August so it very warm and there is very little shade, and the waterfall is bone dry. There are several moderately steep climbs and some rocky terrain where I needed to concentrate on my footfalls. The hardest part is definitely the first hill, it's the longest and steepest. If you can conquer that one, the rest will seem easy. There are enough flat spots between the climbs to catch your breath and get your heart rate back down a little. All in all a lovely hike and a great workout. I will absolutely be back in early spring, hoping to have an actual waterfall.

No water in June, just a little mud. Nice little hike. I’d say closer to the medium side of easy.

this was not an easy trail.. more like 5m out and back.

Area is destroyed with graffiti and trash.

The sweeping coastal plains are magnificent and the landscape is perfectly suited to equestrian activities. There are plenty of trails for hiking, biking, walking and riding. The way this area has been preserved makes you think about what the California coast used to look like. Truly beautiful.

The trail for the hike has plenty of signs along the way and it is well-travelled - lots of families. The “waterfall” wasn’t more than a trickle today, so I would suggest visiting after a rain to see the waterfall in action. Plenty of frogs and tadpoles for the kids along the creek.

The area is in recovery after the 2013 fire, so don’t expect a lot of old, dense growth. It’s all fairly new growth that is green, but needs another 5 years to fill out.

If you’re looking for a nice coastal hike, check it out.

We went on hike around noon on Friday. Temperature was 68 it was a perfect weather for hiking. We saw a couple of hikers and mountain bikers and that was it. We enjoyed wild flowers along the trail. One of the flowers has pleasant smell with light yellow.

Love this trail!

This place is great for mountain biking or horseback riding. For hiking which is what I do I found this place to be quite boring. Except for the wild flowers there is nothing interesting about this hike. As far as hiking is concerned I give this place 2 out of 5 stars.

Did this hike today , I wouldn’t say easy but not hard. It was hot , little shade. My dogs needed a few breaks for water. Water fall was beautiful from what we heard more water than usual. I will do it again.

So in love with this spot!!! The best sunset view, seriously! & the waterfall is perfection b/c you can sit right below it. It’s beautiful. Perfect trail for scenery AND exercise.

Lovely trail when I want a quick hike close to home. Great views from the top. If you go in the morning the trail is mostly shaded by the mountain itself. Watch out for bikers! They're common, and come down the trail pretty fast.

Awesome place to take ur dog, and a workout at the same time very easy, don’t forget to go through the underpass it will add another mile to ur walk and ur best friend the 4 legged kind

Many dog friendly options. Some trails had little incline. Very nice and quiet easy hike.

Great way to spend a couple of hours. You are rewarded at the top with beautiful views.

It was 95 today and dry as a bone. It appeared to be one giant fire hazard also the Chumash center only open on weekends. It was so hot we only did to the Chumash center and back. 2 adults and 2
Kiddos

Great easy hike and fantastic view once you reach the top.... Great views on the way up as well.

Hiked on Tuesday 8/1/2017 at 5pm and ended around 630pm with a total of around 4 miles... it was hot and very little shade...
Very little traffic , i hiked alone and I saw only two people . Lots of lizards and quails! Lots of bushes and burned trees. It's a recovering area from a fire. The difficulty is about 3/10 with one area pretty steep. Its a boring trail but good for the area. The area near the waterfall has overground bushes that cover the trail. The waterfall at this time of the year is nonexistent. It's was disappointing actually. The best part was essentially the overview area of the hills. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to get some exercise.

Pros: little to no traffic, exercise , parking
Cons: boring, no shade, no waterfall
Rating: 2/10
Notes: no dogs on waterfall trail, no bikes on waterfall trail, no hike alone, trails splits to other areas

Lovely hike! The waterfall is a little weak right now but you can still climb the rocks and get close to the pools. The brush on the way to the waterfall in the ravine is not well cleared though. Beautiful views of Boney Mountain and Newbury Park. Plenty of additional trails to extend the hike if desired.

Hiked to the non existent waterfall today. It was NOT an easy hike. A few sections were easy but most of the hike traversed somewhat steep inclines. Bring more than one water bottle. You'll probably need at least two water bottles for the round trip.

Nonetheless, the hike provides views of beautiful rolling hills and forested ravines.

Nice easy quick trail with a decent view.

I quickly came to realize the importance of being able to read a map because I turned a 3 mile easy hike into an 8 mile moderate to difficult hike. However, it was well worth it! As you can tell from my photos, there was plenty to see.

Awesome trail!

It was a great hike we took the hidden valley overlook trail. We did try to use the hidden valley connector but 1/2 way in there was a large swarm of bees overhead so we had to double back and stay on the main path. There are a lot of options in the direction you can travel it was a lot of fun!

Section of trail closed!
The "Hidden Pond Trail" is the southern leg of the route and is posted "No bikes". Once you get to the pond, where the views are spectacular, there is no access to northbound leg just east of the pond; there is a barbed wire fence running the length of any possible access.
We doubled back and basically made it an out-and-back route. When we got to where the intersection with the north leg meets the main trail I looked harder for it than on the way up. I wasn't really looking for it earlier, but now it was difficult to find. There is an old sign post at what appears to be an old trailhead, but there is no signage on it.
It's worth the trek and it's still 8+ miles out and back, but know that the loop has been closed off.

nice trail but maybe for a little older kids. 5 and up would make it easier than 3 and 4s.
