Pros - Challenging hills for sure. Great views of the Conejo Valley & Hidden Valley. Picnic table at the top would be a great place to eat. Late Spring - some pretty flora. Cons - The trail traverses across some private property, and so in a few sections there is fencing on both sides of you. Not real attractive. Little to no shade so summer hike would be hot.

We went on hike around noon on Friday. Temperature was 68 it was a perfect weather for hiking. We saw a couple of hikers and mountain bikers and that was it. We enjoyed wild flowers along the trail. One of the flowers has pleasant smell with light yellow.

This place is great for mountain biking or horseback riding. For hiking which is what I do I found this place to be quite boring. Except for the wild flowers there is nothing interesting about this hike. As far as hiking is concerned I give this place 2 out of 5 stars.

Many dog friendly options. Some trails had little incline. Very nice and quiet easy hike.

Hiked on Tuesday 8/1/2017 at 5pm and ended around 630pm with a total of around 4 miles... it was hot and very little shade...
Very little traffic , i hiked alone and I saw only two people . Lots of lizards and quails! Lots of bushes and burned trees. It's a recovering area from a fire. The difficulty is about 3/10 with one area pretty steep. Its a boring trail but good for the area. The area near the waterfall has overground bushes that cover the trail. The waterfall at this time of the year is nonexistent. It's was disappointing actually. The best part was essentially the overview area of the hills. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it unless you want to get some exercise.

Pros: little to no traffic, exercise , parking
Cons: boring, no shade, no waterfall
Rating: 2/10
Notes: no dogs on waterfall trail, no bikes on waterfall trail, no hike alone, trails splits to other areas

It was a great hike we took the hidden valley overlook trail. We did try to use the hidden valley connector but 1/2 way in there was a large swarm of bees overhead so we had to double back and stay on the main path. There are a lot of options in the direction you can travel it was a lot of fun!

Section of trail closed!
The "Hidden Pond Trail" is the southern leg of the route and is posted "No bikes". Once you get to the pond, where the views are spectacular, there is no access to northbound leg just east of the pond; there is a barbed wire fence running the length of any possible access.
We doubled back and basically made it an out-and-back route. When we got to where the intersection with the north leg meets the main trail I looked harder for it than on the way up. I wasn't really looking for it earlier, but now it was difficult to find. There is an old sign post at what appears to be an old trailhead, but there is no signage on it.
It's worth the trek and it's still 8+ miles out and back, but know that the loop has been closed off.

Took some friends out to see the wildflowers. They weren't disappointed. Didn't see any Shooting Stars but there were a lot of Catalina Mariposa Lilies that I hadn't seen on previous trips..

Great warm day for a hike. Those who usually hike on nearly level ground will find a couple of these hills to be challenging but give them a try because the trail on the other side is nice and isolated for suburbia sprawl.

Get out to Rancho Sierra Vista/Satwiwa as the wildflowers are really coming out. Nice patches of Califormia Poppy with a few Parrys Phacelia mixed in. A good place to see the poppies is along the Old Boney Trail and Hidden Valley Trail parallel to the Satwiwa Loop Trail.

Parking can be very stressed and on this particular day people weren't clearing out between 10 - 11. It was a nice cool day after the previous weekend had rain. Still a great hike. Everything is green and wildflowers are out especially in the old burn areas. It's early for wildflowers so they could get even better.

Great trail and easy-to-navigate. Plenty of great sceneries and wildlife to look at.

Nice area for a hike. The parking lot was full but we didn't encounter a crush of people on the Satwiwa Loop. Then we did a leg heading back to the cultural center on the Big Sycamore Canyon Trail and we found everyone. Didn't visit the cultural center but that looks like a good stop especially for families. Picnic tables outside the cultural center so you can include a picnic. You'll have to pack in your picnic from the parking lot but it isn't far.

Amazing! The views were awesome and it's beautiful. Another good part is its clean and there isn't trash everywhere. Also IT IS DOG FRIENDLY!!! another thing is for this app its directions will take you straight to the Wendy trail and around a housing area but go to the main entrance instead because you can't park in the housing area.

Nice simple trail that goes through lots of open land and some partially covered hillsides. Views are OK.

Wanted to add this.

We saw tons of poison oak. Keep your eyes open and avoid it. I'm very allergic to it and was able to keep it away.

We hiked here yesterday. The trails are well marked and there are lots of options. There is little to no shade so bring your sunscreen. Also there didn't seem to be any water on the trails due to the drought, so make sure you bring your own.

We saw lots of other hikers, horses, and mountain bikers.

We'll be going back soon to hike one of the other trails there.

It's basically in my backyard, and it's a nice hike any time of year. The trail networks until literally dozens of other trails for mountain biking, running or just checking out the wildlife. It can be a little "snakey" the summer months, so watch the kids
