Perfect hike for beginners, multiple trails let’s you choose how long you’d like to hike for.

Took my 3 kids here and they loved it. Wasn’t too long, wasn’t too short. It was easy enough for my son, who is special needs, to walk and not need a break. There are 2-3 benches along the trail if you do have to stop and rest, or simply want to stop and see the beautiful surroundings.

We got "lost" and made a right hand turn somewhere (you can see where A LOT of people have made thar mistake on the AllTrails map) and ended up climbing over tons of rocks and poison ivy. So I guess download the trail map and dont make the same mistake as me.

It’s a good trail but there were a few path that ended in a dead end.
Not for beginners I think.
Over all...it’s good. Very secluded and definitely will be back when I’m in a better shape :))

Workout cut short due to coyotes. Be Cautious!

Must have permit to park and do not use Apple maps.

even though the water wasn't present the hike was worth it. Wildlife was present a couple deer and coyote. we'll come back inn ther wetter part of the year. add this and the Adobe house trail together makes for a good hike with some attractions to it

First let me start by saying I'm a big boy. I just recently found the attractiveness of hiking. I started today at 730 on the trail thinking I was going to do like MAYBE 5 miles. but the scenery inticed me. The ease of these trails, and we'll marked, we'll maintained. And if need be the benches placed all over for various reasons basically for observation and reflection. I even started to jog on the trail... don't laugh but it's been awhile. Hardly saw anyone on these tasks which made it easy not to be embarrassed by my efforts. 3 1/2 hrs later I hiked 10.5 MILES... so many things to keep you stimulated... adobe houses, grassy plains, and seasonal pools. The Adobe loop has many trees, water, bridges, and was worth that extra trek. Again, super easy and totally worth it... you'll end up adding additional trails to this hike... I GUARANTEE IT

Very nice moderate trail system. It has many single tracks and double tracks to stay entertained. A good trail to start mnt biking or train.

The system has some jumps and tight corners to get some experience.

There are still several closed trails. Signage can be improved.

5/29/18 - Came across a small (one-foot or so) rattlesnake laying in the middle of the trail five minutes in. Later in the day was followed by a coyote. No clue how long he was back there. We were two people with two large dogs, but it was still unnerving.

Trail is unmarked and a bit hard to follow. Seeing the Cross at the top was worth the perseverance though!

I’ve been doing a lot of mountain biking and some hiking on this trail a dozen times. You have to take note this trail does not have any trees so don’t expect any shade along the trail. It’s best to do early morning or evening time to avoid heat since it doesn’t have shade.
The map on this trail a shorter one but if you want to do longer one you can do that too at about 2 miles. Once you on the top, it a great 360 degrees view over Murrieta and temecula valley. Also the dotted line on the map is not really a correct way to hike or bike.

Good little hike. have done it several times. Ends up being about 5 miles total the route we take. A lot of meadow trails. Hit it at the right time of the year and the meadows are loaded with wild flowers. Very cool!

Really basic hike. Because it's so basic, there can tend to be a lot of people on the trail. there are longer, quieter options that end up at the falls, just stop at one of the alternate points before the main lot for the falls trail.

Easy trail for beginners

Easy hike but today was way too hot when without shards!!!

Beautiful day. Easy horse trails. Nice parking area but can fill up quick. Map quest tried to get us lost take Clinton Keith it takes you right to parking lot. Only downfall as an Equestrian is that you share the trails with bicycles most are very respectful.

The visitor center was really helpful and provided a great trail to follow. Weather was great and it wasn't too crowded.

Was a beautiful hike, and the weather was sunny but cool. This is one of the more rugged, less manicured trails in the preserve. Saw multiple "watch for mountain lion' signs with plenty of tips on what to do if you see a mountain lion. The best tip is the last one- If attacked, fight back. Did the side trip to the top of Monument Hill as well, great view. Also saw two Rattlesnakes along the trail, so be careful.

Mostly out and back trail, but several ways to make into a loop trail. Scenic always enjoy these trails

Great place to hike this trail and many others offer a look at old California

A couple survey markers (I found 3) up on Monument hill.

Nice section on the reserve, visiting the historic adobes and vernal pools is a must if you frequent the reserve! Very well maintained. Honor system entrance fee of $4 ($3 under 12), no dogs allowed on this part of the reserve. Beautiful live oaks and rolling grasslands for most of the way, some sections of steeper incline and forest. Mostly full sun.

Went on a Saturday, started around 8:30am and finished just before 11am. Great trail, some really beautiful scenery. Trails are well kept and only a couple rocky spots, mostly on the Los Santos loop. For a Saturday there wasn't very many people. Not counting the Vernal Pool area (which was completely dried up) I saw only about 6 or 7 people the whole time on the trail. Even though it is rated moderate, it's a great beginners trail.

Beautiful trail. Water wasn't running hard down the falls but it is definitely a must see.. lots of blue bellies, huge tad poles, and a salamander swimming in one of the pools in the fall.. Amazing views at the top! We will be back!
