Nice walk if you only have a few minutes and want to see the headwaters, but if you have a little time, do yourself a favor and head up Everitt Memorial to either the Gateway trails or farther up the mountain for some much nicer hikes. Spring Hill right across the street is also nice, but all uphill (and downhill on the way back).

I was excited about this new trail that parallels the road, winding through forest, but quickly realized there are much nicer hikes through this area. The hike is sort of dusty and rough at this point; about 1.5 miles in I decided to head back to the car and up to Old Ski Bowl to do one of the hikes up there (Panther Meadows and/or Southgate Meadows - grey butte is also nice), which are much nicer.

Beautiful afternoon walk around the lake, wasn’t hot,had a light breeze that made it very comfortable for the 7 mile workout

Lovely views and little development. The trail is easy to follow yet offers several short spurs down closer to the water. Great walk if you’re looking to avoid elevation!

Great hike. I followed the directions below this post which were very helpful. when driving look for castle lake and turn left. On the trail make sure you go about a quarter mile past the ruins and go left.

Fantastic trail! Great views, well maintained. Bridges installed today, though not in time for me; had to wade across while trail crew was working on bridge installation.

no bridge yet, but possible rock hopping

If you need a quick fix in a beautiful meadow surrounded by alpine vistas this is it and it is just a 3 blocks from the center of town! Multiple places to start, but the closest is at the upper end of E Castle St.

Pretty spot for a walk. Sketchy characters hanging around and too bad the pot smoke was so thick I couldn't smell the trees

Awesome trail! Be careful and make sure that the bridges are installed on the west side. There are no warnings.

beautiful falls that were not too difficult to find. The trail continued past the actual falls but didnt go that far today.

Nice drive up to the very end of Everitt Memorial Hwy on Mt. Shasta from Bunny Flat, where those that are hiking to the very top start, and to the end of the road to the Old Ski Bowl trail. Absolutely beautiful views of Shasta. Do not miss going to the end of the road.

Nice place to stretch your legs, and let the dogs out!

Road up to the falls is a little iffy (at least when I went) but definitely cute little falls!

Not easy to find but worth it when we finally did! Follow Ney Springs Rd. Park at the first turnout on the left and walk up the road to the right. If you’ve reached the bridge you’ve gone too far. There are no trail markers! Walk up to the right, the creek will be on your left. You will see some ruins from the old Ney Springs Resort on your right...almost there! When it starts getting steep veer to your left, climb down the rocks and behold Faery Falls!

Small park and small trail but interesting because of the creek. A lot of people here just to take home spring water...

Interesting big time because this is where the headwaters of the Sacramento River begins. It simply starts coming out of the rocks and forms a stream. Confusing pieces of trails here.

Easy trail to run. Took my dog had a fun day

I sincerely wanted to see this waterfall, I'm actually infuriated because all the directions I found were wrong. Nothing is marked, I was able to find Ney Springs Road which is also unmarked. I successfully got to the break off point where the road splits into two while on this AWD road, however the directions said that if you took the right Road it would lead you up to the falls and old ancient Resort. WRONG! Well, I ended up walking for 2 miles straight up the mountain only to turn back around. Finally I realized it was probably the road to the left that led to the falls. SO upset. I was already too exhausted to try again. All in all, I probably walked four miles trying to find this thing. Pretty pissed off. Why are there not good directions available anywhere online?

Nice, short trail with beautiful falls!

This isn't a trail, just a walk around a park. It is really pretty by the water. Lots of outdoor people enjoying the Devils lettuce in the parking area.

Shady, easy trail. Pretty views of the lake. I don't like the area near the resort or the road. Saw another person every few minutes.

Very pretty area with lots of poison oak.

Trailhead not marked. Trail is steep and got my heart going. Had to take breaks. Passed the trail to, but corrected our mistake by using All Trails map. Fall was beautiful. Nice boulders to climb on. Peaceful!

Beautiful scenery . Went on a cool, sunny day in the fall. Well marked trail except for in the campground. Had to use All Trails map to get us back on track a few times there.

Magical place

Nice shady trail with some beautiful views of Mount Shasta.
