Sea otters, elephant seals and water birds of all kinds were splashing all around us and in some cases trying to hop in the kayak with us! What an amazing spot for a relaxing paddle amidst the wildlife. Check with the park office prior to your visit for tidal information. Trust me, you don't want to get caught on the wrong side of that.

my kids loved it, 2yr and 4 yr

Easy enough hike for my 5 and 7 year old boys. Great visitor center at the entrance with maps and information on the local flora and fauna

Tried to go today at the last 100 yards of road is completely flooded and the beach inaccessible unless you bring a kayak.

This is a lovely easy walk that we've now done twice on Winter solstice. Come in the last hour of the day for a special golden light that makes for amazing photos. Plenty of birds and a nice visitor center to warm up in with knowledgeable docents. Plenty of parking as well.

If you are with kids or grandparents, walk out to the boardwalk and bridge, explore the ruins of the Big Barn. If you'd like a longer stroll, do the whole loop. About 2 miles for the loop.

Great day, I decided to do all three trails along with all the outlooks, blinds, and vista points. It ended up being ~6.5 miles. Cost for use permit $4.25.

Super nice beach!! Very quiet and hardly anyone there. I don't exactly think its a hiking destination as its flat and open, but more like a flat easy nice walk.
