Mission Canyon, California Map

Granted we went on a very hot day, the work was not worth the payoff. Not much in regards to views. We went last weekend (September), absolutely no water in the creek. Everything was just dry and hot. Definitely a climb.

A truly beautiful gem of a hike. It's so nice to be near running water and greenery during the dry summer months.

Like this trail . Wanna say it’s 8,7 miles not 7,7. It took me 4:20 hr. I would recommend to use right shoes . Because some places so bold and easy to slide specially when you go back . I would consider it like a hard trail level 1:) not super hard. all 8,7 ml are different . Can be flat , rocks , uphill 45%. ... not birthing .

Nice warm up to the meadow then the next 3 miles is 1800 elevation gain up to Camino Cielo. 4.5 hours up and back.

Yes it is $12 to get in, and it is not a hike on a traditional trail, but if you have any interest in California native plants you MUST come here. There are paths and trails all over the property, so if you want to extend the mileage you certainly can. The gardens are absolutely stunning.

It’s $12 to get into the garden.

Very pretty, but not really a hike!

Nice friendly trail and a good steady moderate grade. I’d do it again, in fact, we did it yesterday.

Amazing views. There is a lone piano on the overlook. Interesting subject matter for photography.

An epic cruise by bike from the top to refugio state beach.

Paved road loops up to the old fire lookout on La Cumbre Peak, then around the front for good views of the city and islands. Quite a few picnic tables for lunching enjoyment. A number of planted pines offer shade on the north side of the peak.
