Such a beautiful hike! There were creeks, water falls, bridges, a wood ladder, and open groves as well as shade, fog, direst sun, and rain. All in one hike!! So much fun to have such diversity all in one place. Very much recommend, the stairs half way through may have you question why you started but remember it doesn’t last long. Lol

Awesome. At times much harder than I anticipated . Worth it.

Great trail, some noticeable elevation changes and rocky areas. If you want to do this hike fast then I would suggest mid-high boots if they don’t bother you.

Amazing, and a reverent, quiet kind of a place. We hiked the bridge 4 to Hilltop Trail, and it was a nice 1.5 hour leisurely hike...

I felt it was hard and not moderate. it's only uphill hiking all the way with lose gravel, stones and not a proper trail path. however, it has trees and hence gives the shade along with beautiful views.

It is an easy evening hike. Takes roughly 2.5 hours to complete. A smaller deviation to pantoll before taking the dipsea downhill will give you more rewarding views of the ocean and bay area.

Great hike. Fantastic ascent through the redwoods then down through grassy meadows on the Dipsea Trail with views back toward the Pacific. There was a lot of lingering fog on the day we went but it was still spectacular. Would love to come back and try some of the other hikes in Mt. Tamalpais nearby.

Had a great time on this trail. It was our second time hiking and it was definitely a challenge but 100% worth it for the beauty.

Hiked clockwise from Pantoll. 3 hr 31 minutes. Very scenic hike.

We started off this trail towards Mt. Tam East Peak last Sunday. Great Hike despite the struggle, the steep stairs & rocky areas. It sure did kicked our butts but it’s all worth it once you get to the peak with the panoramic view of the city and the view above the clouds! It’s just so magical! Im definitely coming back!

Good accessibility for wheelchairs; incredible opportunities for redwood viewing

One of the Bay Areas must-do hikes. Beautiful woodland areas hiking thru narrow crowded trees, bridge crossings and amazing views of the entire bay area from the top. At the top many people drive here. They are missing out, so much more to see. Dog friendly and typically cool temps on the coast when it is hot inland. Great three to four hour hike.

We started at the Muir Woods parking lot up the Dipsea trail. It’s a steep grade at the beginning with quite a few wood stairs, but along the highest points you can get a beautifully clear view of the ocean beyond the hills. On a warm June day the first 2/3 of this trail was HOT! Pretty much entirely exposed among the scrub. Awesome to finish among the cool shade of the redwoods!

Great for mountain biking not much for hiking.

The mountain so nice, we climbed it twice. It's pretty steep on both ends. The forest is really beautiful, and I suggest going early bc the fog makes it particularly nice. I love all the big trees.

Easy walk through the huge redwoods surrounding you. It’s definitely busy and not as peaceful as one would like since it can be crowded and people aren’t as quiet as they should be. But overall gorgeous.

Gorgeous! Can be pretty steep in some parts, but not too bad.

Incredibly gorgeous hike! Started at Stinson Beach and went to Muir Woods and back (best option for parking/there's a bus that goes from Stinson Beach to Sausalito). Great views of the Redwoods throughout the hike! Would rate it more as moderate though: there was an extended climb of scares, then another turning back from Muir Woods, but otherwise it wasn't too difficult.

Not a difficult hike but a good workout. I did it counterclockwise and also took a side trip to the mountain top trail, to make it a bit more difficult. This trail truly has it all. The ecosystem changes pretty frequently. Lots of streams are still flowing in mid June. So are many wild flowers. The terrain is also frequently changes. It was foggy and so I couldn’t get good views this trail is famous for. Enjoy!

Dogs not allowed on half of this trail. View is great, trail is nice. But once the trail crosses trail line highway there are signs posted: no dogs allowed.

Beautiful hike, waterfalls, lush ferns to manzanita, views of the lake. Mostly shaded all the time.

Went from Stinson to Muir Woods and back. Recommend this way as you start and end at beach and it’s easier for parking and public transit.

My favorite hike in the Bay Area. I liked that almost the entire Matt Davis trail was protected from the sun. The railroad grade trail was about 50% shade. The views are incredible and the elevation is gradual enough to not be too difficult for the amount you are climbing. I went down the Fern Trail on the way back as a shortcut it's steep enough to consider trekking poles and would be a really hard trail to go up.

Lots of signs to keep your dog leashed. We had a coyote come right up to us although it was much smaller than my dog so I wasnt too worried. Dog didn't have any ticks after this hike which hasn't been the case with other North Bay hikes.

Nice hike and great payoff if you go slightly off trail on the Dipsea to see the views of the ocean.

Did this hike Thursday. We started from the Fairfax trail head worked our way up the falls around to the Kent trail. Took our time and explored each waterfall. Ended up being 12.2 miles only because we kept exploring. Great hike!

Always beautiful and super crowded. Love this place but the crowds and parking make it tough.

Amazing trail. Lots of stairs and climbing in the woods where no sunshine gets through. Your thighs will be burning. *disclaimer* if you make it all the way to Stinson beach please note there is no bus Uber or Lyft in that town to take you back after the 9 miles lol. There is only one taxi in that small creepy town but the beach is beautiful. No cell reception either. Experienced hikers only.

Awesome trail, very green
