Did the Seabord to Crest loop and it was spectacular. Small creek, so many beautiful wild flowers phenomenal views. Great workout. Lots of steep up and downs. Nice trail. I would suggest staying in the trail. We took my dogs and went off trail for picnic and came out covered in nettles and ticks so that was a bit of a nuisance to have to pick off, but if you stick on the trail should be fine.

Park easy to find - heads up gates dont open until 8AM however parked down the street at Bear Creek staging area. Trail in good condition however you need long pants the first 1 mile - fairly overgrown. Steep on the font end but levels out. Very nice views - very little coverage Didnt see anyone until mile 6 however was on trail at 630

This hike is ok, kind of boring though. As far as possible routes at Briones, I think you can probably piece together something yourself that is a lot more rewarding. Personally I wouldn't consider this hard but it's all relative. There's one stretch right in the beginning that is a little rough if you're not prepared but after that, it's pretty easy. Decent hike, good distance for something after work before sunset but overall, I don't think I'd do this one again.

Good trail and not over crowded with tons of people. Someone mentioned below about the tick warning and that wasn't a joke. We purposely wore knee high white socks and pulled almost a dozen off and we didn't stray off trail, they're just that narrow and overgrown right now. We checked ourselves before getting in the car but backpacks must have even had them cause we found 2 in the car after. Gorgeous weather and tons of greenery right now, but not sure I'd go again this time of year

Great hike. It is definitely not hard, but I guess that’s relative. I will say it was moderate for anyone at slow, fun pace. Pretty scenic even when I went on a cloudy day. Did a good amount of detours and climbed the Briones peak, which is not for everyone. Good views though and a much easier way back down through other trails. Saw some wild turkeys and a fox; not to mention lots of cattle. Wear good gripped shoes with enough threads. Some downhill parts of the trail are pretty slippery without good shoes.

Franklin Ridge Loop is one of my favorite little loops. I suggest an alternate route, which skips the steep climb from the parking lot. Instead keep driving out on Carquinez Scenic Drive (west) instead of taking the left turn into the parking lot. The road stops at a gate, but just before that on the hairpin turn noted on this map is the actual trail head for Franklin Ridge Loop. If you take this route and walk in a counter clockwise direction, the climb is gradual. As you hike always stay on the fire road and take intersection turns to the left until you have come back to the last turn at the bottom of your loop and then take a right back to your car, (as seen on this trail map) (street parking is limited, but usually not full)

Beware of ticks- I’ve hiked this trail a lot and enjoy it. However I don’t recommend hiking during this time (April) with shorts or bringing any pets because of ticks. The trails are overgrown right now and you can’t avoid getting ticks. I found over 10 ticks on me during the hike.

Good hike, nice views and close to home. Very steep in some areas but overall good.

Briones was my playground for a decade and I've done every inch more times than I care to admit. I was the guy you saw who always had 2 or 3 Golden Retrievers with me for a decade.

Hiked this trail today. The views are gorgeous! I can't wait to go again and take some of the other trails. There are some steep areas, but the scenery is well worth it

Beautiful. Hard incline for beginners though. :)

Great views, peaceful, and quiet. Well placed benches for a rest with a view. Muddy/slippery on the Hulet Hornbeck portion of the trail. I am glad I scaled that portion at the beginning going up and did not have to navigate it as a mudslide coming down. Fantastic hike!

Awesome, trails all over with hills and great views of the delta/Mt Diablo.

Challenging hike with quite a few long, steep sections, nice views and a good deal of shade even midday

good trail a bit crowded on the weekends.

Great little trail. Starts off a little steep for beginners but great to strengthen your legs and Stanama

Beautiful hike! A good way to start the new year!

No dogs. Lots of signs say no dogs and no dogs even on leash. Dogs are allowed in other areas of the park.

Quite. Minimal biking.

Nice short hike. Good for picnics. Super easy walk.

This trail is sweet. I was looking for a trail with nice views that was easy enough for children yet still rewarding. The hike was pretty easy even for my 6 year old son. We were rewarded with awesome views of Mt Diablo and even got to see a coyote running around.

Deeply rutted dirt road. Not recommended after a rain storm.

Neat walking around Marsh- but had to bush whack as this trail map is old and some is non existent. Lots of no trespassing signs- not even sure if this is a park anymore. Don't go alone!

Pretty steady incline t begin with, then once you're at the top it gets easy. The trail goes from super wide, to a narrow walking path. I think I might use the start for training for upcoming Jiu Jitsu comps.

Shoreline is fairly Scenic. You can see crude oil tankers coming in. Part of the trail goes by sewage treatment plant that area could be a little bit smelly. Overall good experience

Phew, that's a long one. Bring water.

Most of the trail is on wide fire roads & out in the sun. The views are great but the hike to get to & from the ridge is STEEP. Plus, I found 4 ticks on my dogs once we got home.

An enjoyable 8+ mile loop with easy to moderate hills. The valley section is partly wooded, partly open range with lots of cows about. Atop the crest, the views of Martinez, Benicia and the Suisun Bay are beautiful. The trails consist of fire roads and heavily used tracks, mostly in good condition but with one or two washed out areas.

great place,with great views .
