Mosquitos!!!! I have welts all over my body. We had to turn back. I got bit at least 10 times within 5 min. Tried to go on but the bites flared up and I was miserable. But it’s beautiful here. I’m sure it’s an awesome trail

No waterfall and currently there is a foul smell where the waterfall is located. I suggest coming back after it rains, usually this is a nice hike.

Water fall is empty at times but a great short trail.

Too many rocks on the trail but the trail is really clean and the views are amazing! It gets a bit dangerous towards the top. You’ll have to climb the rocks so be careful! As for parking, there’s a parking lot across the entrance of the trail and it’s free.

Fire road!

Easy hike and great for kids. Lots of colorful dragonflies this time of year.

Such a lovely introduction into my first day of camping at Point Mugu! Even with the clouds blanketing a majority of this hike, the trail itself (at least the visible pieces) were beautiful and what I could make out below from above was also stunning. I didn't loop it as the final decline looked steep and was thick with clouds. Definitely again!

Nice place to hike. Scenic trail is single track and a bit steep in parts, but definitely do-able for most. Overlook trail to top is mostly fire road. Pay to park is $12 all day or $3 an hour at pay machine.

Intense yet beautiful!! Worth every step of the way up!!!

Trails on trails. Good view for the majority of hike

When I went on this hike on July 14th, the trails were poorly maintained. So much of the grass and brush was overgrown that for 40% of the hike you’re walking on a path a foot wide, with plants scraping at you up to you waist. The trails are also not clearly marked. The trail has little shade as well. The view of the ocean is nice, but the majority of the hike is in overgrown grass, and this view could similarly been seen by driving to an overlook. I would avoid this hike.

Nice views and ocean breezes, lots of bees and active hives though, its a shame it burned up...

Easy hike through nice houses... Disappointed waterfall but then again it's so cal so was expected

Nice trail that climbs up with views of the ocean and welcome cool breezes. The trail is well maintained. Good family hike. Port-a-potties and picnic benches at trailhead.

The hike up from main Sycamore trail is heavily overgrown until you get out of the creek bed. Then it opens up. Did the entire Serrano loop back to Sycamore, then about three miles down the main trail to the campground.
Lots of spider webs across the trail on the way back down. Over 90 degrees up there today

it is a beautiful trail. challenging climbs and great vistas.

A few nice views of the Coast and Ocean. Not a lot of shade so make sure it is a cool day.

great trail run. up, up, up, down into canyon and back up. way up. the single tracks were all pretty overgrown but ok. way back down so pretty.

Very nice hike. Lots of beautiful views!! Did it on a Tuesday morning. There was nobody.

We went counter clockwise and had a relatively flat trail for about 4 miles. We ended up going on Wood Fire Trail which had a long steep incline. After we made it to the top we had a heck of a view in all directions. We finished the 10.2 mile Loop in about 2:51.

Beautiful views, beautiful wildflowers. No shade - bring sunscreen!

Great trail. Hiked while camping at Thronhill Brome beach. Early morning the trial was empty, marine layer kept temps cool and stellar views and wildflowers. Moderate incline the whole trail very pleasant to hike.

Started 8:am. Parking directions correct and right at trailhead. Ascent is 2.9 mi. There was only one tree grove ~5.0 mi in. Excellent trails >15’ width.

Very cool stopping point is Corral Caves. Climb into one of the caves for lunch . Nothing at end point of trail.

Definitely need 3 liter of water (I make hibiscus tea, refreshing mint tea / Little caffeine, with lots of ice) and hat.

Coastal weather gorgeous.

Saw no snakes. Lots of women and men on trails. All friendly.

It was a beautiful hike with lots of trees and nature, but there was not much water. We were able to see a little bit of the falls, but it was obvious that the water was going down. So if you want to see the falls, go sooner than later! Still beautiful, for what it is, even though it smells like sulfur.

Just finished up the Backbone - linking together sections over the last few months. One of the best ways to experience Coastal Southern California.

Really pretty hike! Dog friendly and the waterfall is a great spot to sit before heading back.

Great, easy hike. Dog-friendly and lots of shaded areas.

Family friendly hike. There was resident's honking at everyone to move, there was plenty of horse poop, and the waterfall was dry like trickles falling, and it smelled horrible. when you get to waterfall becarefull while I was there all the loose rocks had 8 hikers fall.
