This is without a doubt the prettiest trail in the Santa Monica mountains. At one point you feel like your in Hawaii. Then a fairytale with all the flowers. Then you make the peak and get epic views of the beach and the conejo valley. It’s 8 miles total including doing some of the backbone trail from tri-peak and is not hard or easy. It’s just incredible. The bees are amazing and it’s always an experience. Only downside is it’s crowded.

Bees! Lots of them. They aren’t aggressive but they are on the trail.

Awesome trail. Very beautiful. Definitely overgrown about 3 miles in once you start descending if you are going the path to the right once you get up the first hill. I don’t recommend following this specific map trail right now till they overgrowth get cut down as its pretty intense and you can end up off path. Instead just do the route that goes to the American flag and continue that way.

Trail was nice arrived right after sunrise. Attempted to try getting to the second waterfall and trail was just sliding dirt. Most people don’t wear masks and really crowded.

Super awesome hike ... best in SMNRA range! Watch out for the bees just before tri-peaks junction, their hive is in the ground and below the trail, don’t step on it! Definitely recommend a lot of water, I ran out, and it was overcast/cool for half the hike!

Fun easy trail to the first waterfall! You have to basically rock climb and use the ropes that’s been left out to get to the second waterfall, but definitely worth it! I suggest getting there around sunrise to beat the crowd!

It’s a small easy hike/ trail. Once you are at the top it’s absolutely beautiful and you have amazing views. Highly recommend.

Nice trail, very scenic with the wildflowers and rolling hillsides. Make sure to take lots of water as there's little shade and it is pretty warm. There was a small creek near the beginning of the trail if you park in the overflow lot (500 ft up the road from the main lot). My dog loved the walk, but there are lots of burs and foxtails so be mindful of that. There were a few people so take your face coverings as well. People were respectful and were social distancing as best they could.

WAY TOO crowded & 85% of the people where not wearing masks! Complete disregard for others safety which is disappointing.

Nice trail until the 1st waterfall. You have to almost rock climb on a very steep hill to get to the 2nd waterfall. Well worth it though.

There is a small parking lot it's best you park on PCH, just make sure you pay attention to parking signs. The trail is nice and great work out (easy) walking to the trail (slightly up hill). The entire trail is narrow and can get crowded very easily. You share the trail with horses and there is no way for you to pass them on the trail. The water fall was nice, but this is one to check off the list and not come back.

Did this counterclockwise. Ray Miller & fire road were super nice. But coming down on the La Jolla canyon loop tail is a mess. Completely overgrown, only to find out that after 0.2, 0.4 and 0.6 m there is a gate and the trial is closed for safety reasons. (It should be marked by fire road already to not continue to go down this loop) It is really hard to find the trail down past that gate to come back to the parking lot. Unsafe and not suggested. Very rural and many snakes.
