Beautiful trail. Maintained path that is mostly easy walking. It gets more vigorous hiking down to the falls and back up to the upper trail. Only saw one other person during a 2-hour hike on Sunday morning.

A very pleasant, easy ride. Bring a fishing pole and enjoy the trout and bass fishing. Lots of places to stop for a picnic.

Pretty hike! I totally drove past the start of the trail at first because it’s literally off the side of the road, but it’s super easy to find once you realize there’s no real “trailhead”/parking lot, etc. At first I was right along the houses and streets but once you get going it goes deeper back into the woods and you forget you’re relatively close to homes. Having this app loaded and being able to follow it as I went was a lifesaver. There are so many ways/Bridges/different paths to take that I had to backtrack just a few times to stay on this particular path. My dog loved taking a dip in several areas of the creek and it was only uphill a few times which made for a good workout but nothing strenuous. I only saw one other set of hikers so it was very quiet as well. Would definitely hike again!

I'd give this a 5 for its beauty, but I wish well-behaved dogs could join. $3 parking fee. Very pleasant. Bathrooms along path.

Easy beautiful hike around the lake.

Perfect for all ages. Trail rims the lake and is great for even a warm day. Shaded with lake breeze.

This is a great easy trail to be done with the family. We also saw a lot of runners running the trail and people fishing or kayaking in the lake. The hike is actually a little over 9 miles if you want to reach the end. It's not a loop and you do have to turn back. There were also some bikers. It appears that this trail is used in many ways. Lots of shade along with some sunny patches so do bring a hat and sunscreen. Also it does cost to park in the picnic area, $3. :) happy trails!!

Nice lake, view and woodsy smell, but a little low due to no rain this summer. Easy trail, strolled with infant in carrier. No dogs allowed & no swimming allowed.

This is a fairly flat trail that goes about two-thirds of the way around the lake - it would really be nice if it was ever turned into a trail that went all of the way around the lake. The path is wide and fairly flat with just a few very small ups and downs and it is mostly packed dirt with some areas that are loosely packed road-base gravel. The view is great wherever you stop and it's always a nice local trail to get some "fresh air" on! BTW - Dogs are not allowed anywhere around the lake - it's a municipal water supply. Kayaks and non-gasoline boats are allowed on the lake and it has been a popular fishing lake for as long as I can remember...

This is a beautiful trail for walking or biking! $3 to park in the lot, and there is a nice campground with park area and lots of benches. We biked the whole trail today (about 4.5 miles out and back) and saw many lizards and three deer. One stuck around right by the trail as we passed and just stared. I wish swimming was allowed in the lake, as there are a few nice looking areas, but the signs say it's not allowed. =( we really enjoyed the views and the trail though, at least until I got a flat tire about a mile and a half away from the car. LOL.

Fun and well maintained trail. We used to live up the road in Magalia and spent quite a bit of time at the lake. Fun kids fishing - never caught anything keepable. Have heard about bear sightings but never saw anything larger than lizards and snakes. Great walk for the kids.

Nice, low impact hiking and mountain biking trail. This does not loop the entire lake though. Only skirts the south, east, some of the n/e corner and it's a u-turn back the way you went in. Still worth a weekend walk.
