Solid hike. Wouldn't necessarily call this "hard" as there's nothing technical, or things to caution other than bring a sweater if it's near the end of the day. Watch out for bikers coming downhill as well!

Nice easy walking trail with a lot of optional smaller trails closer to the bluffs. Some are very over grown and not accessible but still overall a fun trail!

Absolutely incredible!! You’ll see some very unique stone textures, as if they’ve been melted! Loved walking along the Pacific Ocean. Sea lions!! Easy, flat walk on natural terrain and loose, small rock. Completed in Jan 2020. We stepped off trail, where the trail comes very close to the end he and watched dramatic displays of crashing waves. Absolutely spectacular place to visit. I’d you’re here, that means you have the pleasure of being in northern Cali coast. Enjoy the many wonders!

Wonderful hiking area. Many trails to pick from. 2 peaks to enjoy. Oats Peak and Valencia Peak. Bluff trail along the ocean to finish with amazing rock formations. Also used by horses and bikes.

One of my favorites. I went this last weekend and there was a lot of flowers and wildlife. The weather was perfect too!

Took my 9 & 5 year old sons here for a morning hike. Great places to explore along the ocean coves, cliffs & bluffs!

Great views! Some rock scramble and parts of the trail are single file walking.

Amazing place to see different kinds of birds and other animals like deer! The trail is overseen by the Audubon; thus really anything other than walking is not permitted. (such as bikes, scooters, hammocks, etc.) There are a few benches as well as a look out deck on the trail. The look out is a great place to take a look out to Baywood pier as well as the sand dunes near by. Lots of trees provide a nice amount of shade. Very easy walk, almost completely flat.

Really nice, easy, flat walk/hike. Great views of the ocean! There is a nice beach area with rails, that you can climb down to. There is also an area with a couple picnic benches, which are great for lunch of a mid walk break. This walk is very close to the main beach area as well as other side hike that also have coastal access. There are two main parking areas for this hike. One at the start of the trail and if you dive further down the road you'll find the other trail head. Great place to watch for sea life and birds. Great for biking as well!

Did a short loop out horse camp road to East Boundary trail. Then took cutoff to Hazard Peak trail and then down Manzanita back to Horse Camp road. Walked through horsecamp to cable trail and looped back up to parking turnout on Pecho. Nice fairly easy loop if you don't have time for the longer loop to Hazard Peak.

This was a wonderful walking trail for visitors to the area. It has wide paths to allow bikers and walkers to share the path. It was a cool cloudy day, but the views were still far reaching.

No shade! This trail was super nice in January. Beautiful views from the top. Definitely a challenging hike, but if you have the will, you’ll make it! It starts out fairly flat, but gets steeper as you go. It’s windy at the peak, so bring a windbreaker. There’s a picnic table at the top! Thanks Bryce! You’ll get the joke when you make it up there.

The state has closed off the entrance and the trail is just about gone. EDIT: the entrance in marked farther down than listed on the app. It must be a new trailhead

Beautiful hike if you catch it at the right time. Nice when you hit sunrise/sunset and/or it’s a little foggy and the hills work in unison with their surroundings. Definitely would not mark this as a “hard” difficulty, if you were hoping for the challenge. But it’s quiet enough considering all the other trails and the main attraction of Montana De Oro is right below, distracting everyone from this trail (if you’re trying to avoid people)
