Los Gatos, California Map

Nice trail with plenty of people. Saw one rattlesnake.

This trail has no lookout points or a spot to have picnic at the top . It’s just a hike if you are looking to get done with a hike . Full shaded by the trees thou . High inclination for first 1 mile ! And then moderate inclination . Coming down is steep.

The map needs updating here. There’s a fancy new parking lot and as a result some of the trails have been closed or rerouted. But it’s still a fantastic place to go for short or longer hikes alike.

Great trail for the more advanced beginner. Was a lot of fun!

Great trail if you’re more than A beginner not quite experienced. Loads of fun!!!

Very moderate hike with easy directions, nothing in the road. Excellent day hike.

Well maintained and relatively busy trail. Mountain lion territory with latest sighting Aug 9. Moderate difficulty during a few steeper bits. Lots of runners and bikers. Close to a motorway for a while. About 20% shade, most of it on the (counter clockwise) return stretch. Mornings are likely to have clouds, though. The 4 stars are for the loop at the hill top with nice views and moderate difficulty.

So amazing!!! 1000 ft elevation and just great!!!!

Moderate intensity, easily accessible and clear trail, plenty of shade, several mountain bikers but not too many other hikers on a Sat AM, limited parking, a bit cold and windy, fairly scenic.

The flow trail section is only about 3 miles, but one of the funnest trails I've ever done. Not very challenging, just fast and flowy.

Great trail for a short run with my dog. Bobcat spotted 8/8/19–so be aware!

The lookout is closed for wildlife preservation. Short little loop, steep toward the end but moderate at most. You can hear the gun range at the beginning and end of the loop. I probably won’t go back until the lookout reopens.

Limekiln was mostly shaded up until it meets with priests rock. Taking priests rock down is mostly open and downhill. Views are ok but there aren’t a ton of clear overlooks. Saw plenty of wildlife just be careful of bikers on the trail. If you take priests rock back and park by the limekiln trailhead you’ll need to walk on the road back which has a small shoulder and not much space beside the road to walk. Overall a decent hike.

Good workout. Very close to the highway and lots of people on the trail. One or two nice views.

Used the Aquinas Trail in reverse from Sheldon Road to access Lexington Vista Serenity Trail portion. Skipped the Montevina section. Shortened the hike and put the climb at the start. No parking on Sheldon Road so need to find spot on Overlook or below. Unexpectedly saw a banana slug on the Serenity Trail/road today, August 6, in the chaparral? Not a redwood or drop of rain in sight? First time spotted a banana slug outside the redwoods? (See photo)

Used this route in reverse from Sheldon Road entrance and combined it with the Lexington Vista Trail. Skipped the steep exposed section to Montevina. Made it more pleasant with the uphill at the start. No parking on Sheldon so need to find a spot on Overlook or below.

Good training/workout hike. Mostly monotonous views, a few vistas. Lots of bugs/flys. Pretty exposed. Easy to follow and well maintained.

First 1/3 is up hill and hard sand road not easy. The rest of trials are good.

Decent hike but the beginning was a slow constant incline for the first 2 miles. I went counterclockwise on the loop and I'm glad I did! I'm happy theres a lot of parking. Glad to see the new park!

Great hike. Lots of shade and beautiful redwoods.

All day walk

A lot of the top area has no shade which is rough for a hot day. No services. Moderate is accurate but quite rocky which can be slippery. Overall great workout & hike!
