Very good workout . Steep inclines!!! Great to get you n shape .

Nice views along the trail, variety of wildlife - tons of flowers and trees sighted. May get hot in the summer but was great for a 70-80 degree day with plenty of shade.

beautiful scenery and ideal for morning hikes for the crisp air and pretty dew on foliage. definitely looking forward to hiking some of the other trails at Castle Rock next time.

I love coming here. The views are amazing

There are lots of great trails in this park, but make sure to take a photo of the map at the beginning so you stay on the trail you want to be on. Also, the parking fee is $8.

Only hiked to Priest rock and back on Kennedy because it was very hot, most of the hike is in the open/sun, and I didn’t want to run out of water for my pup and I. Four miles up hill... saw a rattlesnake on the way up and a fox near the top. Lots of sparrows and butterflies along the way. Irises are blooming now. Bring more than one canteen if you’re planning to hike this in the summer!

The parking is limited and not the easiest to back out of if there’s other cars parked.

Very moderate. On the weekend busy but parking was easy. The rock sculpting was impressive, worth a look. A bit foggy when I went but lots of good trail viewpoints. Sounds from the distant gun range echo like thunder from afar.

EXCELLENT trails - amazing views - and not so difficult.
parking is a bit of an issue.
highly recommended..

Great all-around, easy trail that provides easy access to services should the need arise.

Great cliff side hike with periodic framed views west. A few boulder scrambles but well-maintained trail. Obnoxious gun fusillades at the Goat point on the weekend.

It’s a nice trail. Gets quite steep at a few spots. That coupled with the total length can make it a hard one. If you’re a regular hiker this should be a nice 4 hour workout. Not too easy but definitely not crazy hard either.
Views up top are nice. Nothing much to see along the way.

Very nice trail with diverse scenery. Great views from the rock climbing spots.

You get to see people rock climbing its pretty cool!
Nice Hike

Wonderful morning workout in peaceful surroundings.

Great views and worth the elevation

Most of the people were met were actually riding bicycles, looks like a tough bike trail. From hiking point of view, it's a moderate trail, mostly inside forest with one spectacular vista point overlooking Silicon Valley. It's pretty wet, so waterproof hiking boots are nice to have. Limited parking. Only one portable toilet at the trailhead. No water.

trail running

Had a blast running this yesterday. The elevation seems off though my Garmin clocked it at 2,082” in elevation gain.
It’s a beautiful trail to run either way.

I really enjoyed hiking this trail. Parking is scarce, find what you can along the side of the road. Went up Limekiln and could hear the streams bubbling. Met more bikers than hikers the day I went. The green gate at the top opens up to a few other trails - but I stayed on this loop. Limekiln provides shaded trails while the Priest Rock side has more open sky. I’d say coming up the other way is more difficult with a steeper incline. All in all, took me under 2 hours to complete including a bit of downhill jogging on the Priest Rock side. Definitely will be coming back to explore the other trails in this area.

Good up hill workout. Nice rainy day hike with fog. Not many people. There are two entrances along the road. Park at one and take the trail at the top that loops back down. Then walk a bit on the road back to your car where you started.

Went early on Sunday morning, 3/4. Take the unmarked trail to the left of the trailhead sign to go directly to Castle Rock. Didn't seem worth it to me, but to each their own. Some snow on the ground from yesterday's storm, with the sun melting snow in the trees. Wasn't expecting rain! Once I got to the falls I didn't need my raincoat. Despite the rain from yesterday, the falls were just more than a dribble. Nice hike on the Saratoga Gap side, but the Ridge trail gave much better views. It was more difficult with roots, steeper climbs, and boulders/rocks on the path, but worth it. Took me 3.5 hours with a lunch break. Nice area just west of Goat Rock to have a picnic. I hope to come back one day to do the Skyline to the Sea hike. Love having a wooded trail this close to home!

Beautiful trail, with a few rocks to casually climb and get hidden gorgeous views:)
Trail itself is well maintained.

Not too hard, a little steep at times. Can see SJ, SF, and Oakland from the top!

Many ups and downs. Great mountain views. Fun to watch rock climbing and bouldering.

moderate uphill, not much of a view at the top.
