there is more than one way to get to the Hollywood sign if you come in from Griffith Park it is much easier than coming in from the Wisdom Tree Trail and be sure to have trekking poles cuz it's Steep and Rocky and dusty but the view from the top is pretty special

The walk was decent. We parked at the Greek Theater, free parking. we walked up to Griffith Observatory and started in the direction of sign. Luckily there are signs to show the way. it was very warm out and we packed 50 ounces of water each, plus Gatorade. Also, we packed power bars, fruit, and granola bars.
the sign and hike was a bit anti-climatic. However, it was something to check off the bucket list. My boys enjoyed climbing up hills and exploring. No shade so prepare yourself with sinscreen etc.

Can get pretty confusing if it is your first time here, there are many different options to reach the sign. Just remember that the sign is on Mt. Lee. cover up because there is no shade on this hike.

Mostly on paved road. Nice views. Very populated with people and dogs.

Hiked from Hollywood blvd to the observatory. Then from the observatory to the Hollywood sign and back to hollywood blvd. Began at 7:30 and ended at 1430, walking at a slow pace as well as stopping for snack breaks multiple times. Spent 20 minutes at the back of the Hollywood sign. On the way back, we went through the observatory for a quick little peek. Trail is highly crowded. Overall, great for the amateur hiker along with great views of lala land.
