Very nice hike for those wanting to see some of the area as well as have a great workout. The stairs are difficult to find. Even with my phone, we missed a few and had to back track.

Awesome hike through the Hollywood Hills that takes you past super unique houses/mansions. You also get really cool views up close of the Hollywood sign and DTLA. Most of the path is paved and on city streets which is a nice break from most of the nearby dusty hiking trails. The stairs are definitely a workout and will get your heart racing. Highly recommend this hike if you’re looking for a quick workout through a less traveled area of Hollywood.

Very fun city walk, with cool views and cooler architecture. The stairs are a workout, and a great, urban alternative to the nearby trails in Griffith Park. Pro tip: It's much easier to find parking south of the Hollywoodland gates on Beachwood Canyon. (And parking in the shopping center is strictly for customers, and strictly enforced.)

This hike was pretty neat. I was able to see some awesome breed of dogs.... it’s funny because we came on this hike by mistake trying to see the caves on the Bronson hike (something like that).

I recommend WORKOUT gear. I saw a lot of people that might have missed that memo and ended up sliding and falling. Be sure to have a shoe that has a grip to it! Take water...don’t make the mistake I made. There is horse poop everywhere (lol) soooo look where you are going.

Great little places to take photos. But this trail is connected to many other trails that will take you to the Hollywood sign.

Oh! PARKING! Keep DRIVING ALL THE WAY UP. There is parking all the way at the beginning of the trails so do not stop at the first gate!

Enjoy folks!

A nice little urban oasis, with an easy paved path that loops two small lakes.

Great hike! It was a beautiful day in LA. Started early to beat the crowds and to get a good parking spot. Took my uncle visiting from Minnesota. A must for out of town guests.

Super chill loop around Lake Hollywood. The fencing around the lake are not appealing but the views when you get to the bridge are nice. Cool to see the Hollywood sign with a lake in front of it. As easy as it gets so fun to take anyone along.

We have been doing Runyon Canyon because we live on an easy access block. Every once in a while we need change the scenery so we drive 15 minutes and do something touristy and easy for us to get off the bucket. This hike is everything that is described in the description as far as we are concerned as locals. Very enjoyable.

Great hike. Come early!!

Very ugly view. All you are looking at for the most part is barb wire....not inspiring. If you want to walk on sand and stare at barb wire in direct heat, this trail is for you.

Nice hike with friends. Saw a couple deer and a few turtles

It was a nice trail. I set out at 7:30 a.m and finished it in 2 hours. Carry water and sunscreen!

Definitely a walking trail that has many turns anf will make you want to sprint to see what’s at the end of the path. You can see the Hollywood sign, but unfortunately the trail doesn’t lead to it.

This was a relatively easy trail to the Hollywood sign. The hardest part about this trail is that it is straight up to get to the Hollywood sign. I started from the Canyon Road parking lot and went to the back of the sign first and then the front of the sign. In total that was 7.5 miles. If you only go to the front of the sign it is 5.7 miles. Listen to what everyone else says -go out super early, there is no shade. You’ll need sunblock, a hat, water and sturdy footwear. The ground is not technical at all, it’s a flat hard pack and actually at the very top its asphalt to the front of the sign.

Basically a flat walk on a paved utility road. But - pretty mountain and lake scenery, nice vibe. Good walk for single females wanting to be safe, there are plenty of people around, including park rangers. There is an additional trail to the east that branches off near the southern end of the lake and goes up to Mulholland Drive if you want more of a workout.

Loved the hike! The views were amazing and I got great shots of the sign. It is dry and open trail but if done in the early morning it's not bad at all. Definitely bring apply sunscreen and wear hats and sunglasses. We didn't go all the way up behind the hike, but it isn't much further up the trail (maybe like another mile) if you decide to go further up.

Not too exciting, other than being close to the Hollywood sign.

Great hike - and easy for kids.

This was a fairly easy trail. Gradual incline. It’s really open so hats, sun screens, and at least a liter of water or more if you start late as it will get hotter in the afternoon. We spent about three hours total because we stopped at the Hollywood viewpoint ( front view of the sign) and Mt Lee ( back of the sign) to take in the breathtaking views and for lots of pictures.
There is no trail that will bring you right to the sign as it’s gated and in a protected area, however if you get onto Mt. Lee trail it’ll get you to Mt. Lee just behind the Hollywood sign and it’s as close to it as you could get to the sign. Hope this help, have fun!!!

This is good of you want to try out your bike ( your kids) or do. A run in a close but safe area :) and it’s off to other trials but this is a gated trails it’s still a nice hike they have restrooms half way /threw along with water (nice picture backgrounds on the bridge ;) of LA when leaving depends if you got out going upwards you go right under the Hollywood sign / good hiking area too (

This is a great adventure.. you need to have good shoes lots of dust and water. We saw rattle snakes so no flip flops...

I liked nice view and very quiet, easy to find parking

Great moderate hike to bring out of town guests. However, if out of shape, it may be difficult. It’s up hill at beginning and end.

this was more of a walk than a hike very flat and pretty much asphalt all the way around and the fence didn't help the view at all but we still had a good time

Great views. Would be great at sunset or early morning.

muy bien

It’s a nice hike but nothing spectacular. The smell of horse poop and pee can be a little overwhelming from sunset ranch. There is no shade so avoid on hot days.

The view at the top is fantastic however. Amazing views of the Hollywood Reservoir and the view of the back of the Hollywood sign is certainly unique!

Great hike just watch out for the horse poop. minimal shade.
