To call this concrete walkway a trail or this walk a hike is a blow off the water lie.

This is NOT a trail, but a concrete walk build around a human made lake.

Often times, depending on time and day, it is over crowded. Not uncommon to run into groups of three or four people walking next to each other taking the whole path and blocking others. you have to ether ask them to move or go around them. Complete disregard for others. Not surprising, people often do that on the bike path around the park, why not here?

The best thing about this walk is to watch the ducks swans. But at the same time it can be upsetting. I have seen plenty of people feeding them even though there are signs that clearly state not to do it. It affects their migration habits and it is illegal. But people do it anyway. I suppose some people think signs and laws do not apply to them.

Perhaps my review is a bit more “negative” than others, but I crew up in the Valley and have frequented this park and many others and I have seen this park go from bad to worst. More and more people and people using it few good parks we have in the Valley in very selfish ways. At the same time I am not one to sugar coat things. Yes, it’s a pretty place with some beautiful animals, but it does have it’s downfalls.

Unless it’s raining, do not expect to spend some nice quite time. If you want some alone time and quite time, just you and nature, this is not the place for you.

this was more of a walk than a hike very flat and pretty much asphalt all the way around and the fence didn't help the view at all but we still had a good time

We perfected the Hollywood Hills hike! This trail starts at the Hollywood Reservoir, then up to the back of the Hollywood sign and then over to the Griffith Observatory. We choose to Uber to the starting point and from the end point since it is always crowded and very hard to find a parking space.

Enjoy!

Super easy very flat partially in a neighborhood nice to take your dog on a walk.

Great for social walk. Great run for beginners. About 1.3 miles around the lake.

muy bien

The pond seems more popular with geese than with people, probably due to all the goose poop. The walk itself is on a totally flat, paved path.

I did this as a cool down from the Hollywood sign hike. Don't really like the fences that are up, but I get it. Also was just too flat for me. This hike is good for a nice easy walk. Saw a couple deer while I was here.

Ducks and swans in the lake. Bird melodies. Pedal boat rentals. Finding parking on the weekend can be difficult.

This amazing reservoir trail has been one of my every day Common exercising fit program’s for over 15 years now, Anytime of the day is the perfect place to meditate, walk, run, jog, or just sit back read a book, including a amazing dog play park very dog friendly,

Not happy that the lake is on the opposite side of the trail which in turn gives a not so good view of the lake. Lots of traffic on two way street, with lots of cars going pretty fast... therefore I wouldn’t recommend any young impulsive children on this easy trail. Don’t want to discredit the location and beauty of being around the holly wood lake. This is just not what I was expecting. We went to franklin after which was amazing and perfect for my lil ones.

Very beautiful hiking for beginners, more walk than hike. Amazing view. You can see clearly Hollywood sign

Most know you can easily turn this into a 5 mile urban hike. I actually loop the entire Sepulveda Basin, starting at the golf course heading west to Balboa, take the bike path north to Victory, then east to Woodley, and south on Woodley but go over into the Wilderness Preserve and come out on Burbank, cross Burbank and head west to the Dam, you'll see it. After hitting the Dam, head north, down along the LA River..you'll come up under Burbank Bl. again, and out to the top. Head west on Burbank back to where you started...6 mile loop. Many people do this..but don't go across to the wilderness trail, to the dam, and call it a day at 5 miles. I do it all the time..like 12k steps, in about 2 hours. Great little trek to keep your legs, lungs and heart hike ready.

wouldn't consider it hiking, but walking instead. the scenery near the lake but there are a lot of homeless encampments in the bushes and graffiti on the bridges.

Cool easy walk.

Good spot just to take a walk after work. A lot of things to do; bike riding, fishing, play park for kids. Plenty of space for BBQ and activities.

it's a nice walk around the lake, mostly all concrete sidewalk, but you can walk on the grass. it's gets hot during the summer, but is nice this time of year. The paddle boating is fun but the water can have a funky smell, from being stagnant and recycled. There is also fishing from anywhere with grass.

Good mellow hike that is flat and paved. Great for running

Fun, scenic, great to do with visitors who aren’t very interested in a hike but still want to move around.

I love this spot. It's great for running, walking, or biking. I wouldn't necessarily call it "hiking" because it's a flat surface the entire length. It's 3 miles total. 1.5 miles from the start to the end and 1.5 miles back. I tracked this trail on my fitbit and you only get 3 miles total if you go ALL the way to the end. (This includes running on dirt not concrete). It's the perfect spot for an outdoor run because you get sun and you don't need to worry about any cars nearby. You also get a great view of some mountains. Thanks Hansen Dam.

Great walk around the Reservoir. Got there at 7. Plenty of parking. Drive up 5 minutes for some great views of the Hollywood sigh from Lake Hollywood Park.

easy and relaxing!

A good loop for anyone looking for a paved, flat path. The views are interesting even though most are through a 10 foot chain link fence. Views from the bridge at 1.3 mile mark show the city on one side and the Lake with the HOLLYWOOD sign on the other. Partly shaded, but can be warm with midday sun. Lots of street parking. No dogs. Port-a-potties available.
