Full flowing waterfalls with bridges at the base at the time of writing this. 5/19/18. Get soaked running across bridges but so refreshing during a hike. Best hike to date for me.

Awesome hike. The falls are beautiful.

Awesome hike, Wapama Fall are worth the trip.

Amazing place! No crowds, flowing waterfalls, blooming flowers and gorgeous spring weather!

Amazing place. Totally recommend. Be careful I saw a bear on this trail. Fee 30$ per car for 7 days

Gate opens at 7, closes at 9pm. All trails just opened. Falls amazing!! This is a tough, rewarding hike. Be in good shape.

This is probably the best hike I’ve ever been on. Trail quality is top notch and the views are spectacular. The elevation gain feels steady. Depending on when you go, and how much water there is, you might get wet near Wapama Falls. Absolutely stunning hike.

Great hike with terrific views. This trail is well traveled but not overly crowded. There is not a lot of shade so take sunscreen and a hat. We hiked on April 28th and the falls were flowing. We got soaked.
I would say this trail is between easy and moderate. Lots of rocky areas and a some hills in the beginning.

Hiked this trail on 4/28/18. It was amazing! Stunning views the entire trail! Loved getting splashed (probably more like showered) by the waterfall! I would say it's easy to moderate. It wasn't crowded at all and the weather was great. It's definitely a hike you have to do once in your lifetime. Easily became one of my favorites!

The trip was pleasant, hard and fun.
From the parking lot for overnight use to the trailhead there is around 1.5 miles to go.
After the tunnel there are about 6 miles straight uphill climbing about 3000 ft, then around 1 mile flat to beehive meadow, from where 1-2 miles to Laurel lake.
We started from parking lot at 1:30 pm, reached beehive meadow around 5:00 pm, when was already a bit dark. But we decided to go to the lake, where the marking said only 1.2 miles away. However the trail later was cut off by a river. I guess one of the step rock was flushed away, only left us a gap filled with waist deep water which we can't cross. So we had to spent time trace the water and find a spot shallower so we can cross. This was done in total darkness. A little bit scary, so be prepared and leave earlier (we hike relatively fast).
In darkness we spent some time looking for the lake, near the lake and its water outlet creek, there is an awesome camp site which has a fire ring already. The lake is just like 200 yards away and creek is close for water.
The only down side is the lake's edge is not very accessible, so the view is not ideal. But it does not hurt. We had a great time.
The way back is a bit challenging as the terrain downhill was all big pebbles and rocks. Watch out for your ankle and follow a comfortable speed.
We went there in mid-January, however there was no slow and I feel the low is 30F at night. Pretty warm for this time of the year!

Great trail that has some built in stairs done by Cal. Conservation Corps. Be careful for lose rocks in certain areas.

Still no snow or ice as of 1/2/2018

Beautiful Northern California hiking. Relatively easy until you hit the switchbacks

The trail and views were spectacular! The trail starts out mostly uphill but then after the turn to go to the falls (less than a mile in) it’s pretty flat. There are lots of rocks to navigate, but we still did it in about 2.5 hours at a steady pace and stopping to eat lunch by the falls. We just went today, 12-19-17, and it was perfect! Fortunately, we got it in before the snow! Can’t wait to do it again but I will only go on cooler days as there is not much shade.

Gorgeous hike, though after schlepping our heavy backpacks for 6 miles had a hard time crossing the little river hopping from rock to rock. It was slippery and my daughter got her foot wet right before sunset and her shoes was frozen the next morning. The waterfall there is beautiful, it's a stunning place. Be forewarned that only 3 official fire rings are open for use among over 25 camp sites, so if you grab a fire pit, please invite others to join you as it's getting colder at night.

I attempted this trail with my brother a few years ago in late May. I don't recommend trying it for your first time that time if year. thanks to snow covering the trail we spent hours wandering in circles looking for other people's foot prints. we turned around once we realized after many hours we were still about two miles from our final destination, and the frozen snow made it difficult to follow our own tracks home. incredible scenery, but please take caution in the winter/spring/fall. worth noting we didn't see a single other person out there.

Very manageable as a day hike. There's a cliff jumping spot on the bridge used to cross Rancheria Creek

One of my favorite trips of all time! Bouldering, switchbacks, and a large gain in elevation make this a tough trip but the solitude, views, lake, and wildlife make it all worthwhile! I went in September so it wasn't very crowded but I'm sure it's busier during the summer. Also, try to go on a rainy year so you don't have to lug a ton of water up the mountain - I went about 2 or 3 years ago during a drought and had to carry all my water because there wasn't any along the trail. Definitely makes things tougher when you're carrying nearly 10 pounds of water.

Also, this place is amazing so do yourself a favor and stay at least one or two nights. Treating this trail as a day hike sounds exhausting and means you miss out on so much fun at the lake!

Nice little hike, went on a Wednesday and practically had the lake to myself. Went to Lembert Dome on the return trip which had nice views with minimal effort.

Good hike, we added 3.8miles by taking the trail to Parker Pass too.

Giving this a 3 because of a few reasons. One it is not an "easy" hike especially if you're not used to 90 and up degree weather. It was also very very smoky this day. It's very rocky and you are mostly exposed to the sun the entire hike trying to find shade is hard as it is scarce. I hiked this on 8-23-17 at 11 am. The parking lot wasn't full and there was not many people on the trail as I was alone for most of my hike. The only falls still flowing were Wapama and the other falls were dried up. The falls were very beautiful however "cooling off" as I had sort of expected and one of the reasons I pushed myself to keep going was actually not really possible as there is still no shade at the falls and you can't really touch or get into the waters as there are barriers. And finally if you do not have a lot of time to spend in Yosemite I think you should skip this. So all in all pretty area but skip it if you don't have a lot of time or hit it on the way out of the park if you are headed that way anyways.

way better than i expected... moderately flat until the last 2 miles then you switchback down beside some impressive waterfalls... still alot of water as of 8/12/17... this is also the PCT... i saw maybe 150 folks along the way on a Saturday... trailhead parking scared me... i thought there could easily be a thousand with that many cars

Be aware gate at the fire road entrance was closed and locked. Over 5 mile hike to get to the trails head . Not bad but not what I had time for today. Disappointing.

Amazing Views.

This hike should be classified as moderate because most of the trail is uphill and the trail is uneven and filled with lots of uneven stones. The end is great with multiple waterfalls but it is definitely not easy.
