Awesome trail. Plenty of different trails and lines for mountain biking. Main trail dead ends and the top of the mountains and was a piece of cake to follow. There are several other trails leading off the main trail but I didn’t venture out on them. Plenty of other people on the trails walking and biking but never had an issue passing anyone. Definitely going back!

Great trail it’s probably better for mountain bikers I hiked it solo last Friday and didn’t see a single hiker the whole time once I passed the main entry saw about 6 mountain bikers and thats it. It defiantly gets hot take lots of water and download the map because it you can easily get lost on this trail and end up in Moreno Valley if you are solo because there are very few people to ask and cell coverage is spotty at best.

I hiked solo but honestly it got a little sketchy especially in the canyons it is not marked very well and for me it was confusing in the canyons with no cell service I hiked up canyon and when I got out I looked back and there was a posted keep our sign! If you hike solo I would definitely be prepared for anything that might come your way!

Overall it was a really good hike!

!!ATTENTION!! the default map of Dragon's Back is not up to date. almost half way through the hike, part of it was fenced out. BUT - there is a detour, but you can imagine the inconvenience of having to trek back a few 100 yards just to take the detour. SO - just be aware of that. I would have recorded my version but it was hot and my mobile phone wasn't cooperating with me and I started having panic attacks thinking i was lost. HNGGGGG! I NEEDED AN ADULT!

PARKING:
lots of space for parking. there's actually two separate lots right next to each other. if they're both filled, you can still park outside the park area.

HIKE:
Ok - here's the thing. There's very very very very VERY little shade on this hike. So gloss up on sunblock and cover as needed. I'm pretty tanned to begin with but i think i just got super burnt. AHOOOOO!

I recommend going pretty early if you're thinking of hiking during the late spring to summer season just to beat the heat. There's plenty of inclines and declines but none too drastic. There's lots of branching trails and bike trails so pay attention to where you're heading (map at the trail head - take a picture of it if you don't want to use the alltrails map.

Lots of lizards. they're actually cute. LOL. there were a handful of people while i was on the hike. a few bikers. 1 dirt biker.

Anyway, the hike is straight forward after you head up beaumont ridge. THE ONLY THING WAS THE DETOUR!

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!

Great hike! Loved the little critters that would walk with us on the path. LOADS OF BEAR POOP (Or so we think) I do not think that owners are neglecting their dog’s poop, that’s another animal. But there were no signs of a big animal coming our way! very safe hike :)

Started late Sunday afternoon with partly cloudy cover, a lil breeze feels like low 70s and not crowded at all. Trail is not labeled, got to the cross and another bench to loop around back where I started by the Electrical towers.

Fun trail! Although my partner and I got carried away and ended up following a bike trail it was still a lot of fun! Just make sure not to be chatty Kathy’s and get yourself lost and you’ll be right as rain!

Oh, and ‘Dragon’s Back’? More like ‘Lizard’s Back’! HA There was so many cute little lizards!

Saw a rattlesnake. Busy trails. Runners, cyclists, and walkers. Went across a broken bridge.

It is a good trail the way up is a bit iffy but not bad other than that great trail no trash good weather great view and it is a nice easy trail even thou slip and fell on my buttocks.

I love this trail. Great for running or a easy stroll.

Great inclines with fantastic views during the first mile and a half. Closer to seven miles if you go all the way out and come back in. Motorbikes present, so keep your eyes and ears out for those. Pleasantly surprised all around.

went up hulda crook with the intention if doing jedi trail, it's safe to say we were so close to it but ended up missing it and did a different trail instead. many trails connect and it's easy to get on another trail that's probably not in your plan. lovely nonetheless. note that's there are many cyclist and motorist that use the same trails so might keep an eye on that.

This hike made it another beautiful day to be outside! I enjoyed this hike as we walked out to reach the saddle...seeing hawks, a coyote, rabbits, and plenty of crows. We took in the views up at the top, which I believe are of Reche Canyon, before going back into the canyon to walk back to the loop part of the trail. The return half of the loop took us out along the northern edge of the foothills where Mt. Baldy, Mt. San Gorgonio, and Mt. San Jacinto were all visible and gorgeous. My phone put this hike at 8.7 miles, but we walked around some other trails a bit too...probably it was closer to 7.9 or 8 miles in total.
Use your app to track yourself, it’s pretty easy to select a trail that will take you somewhere else. Watch out for bikes and motorcycles...the riders are friendly but some corners are blind.
I will be returning...it’s a nice hike for exercise!

It’s the starting point for a lot of different trails and the map was slightly confusing but overall it was okay.

Partial Dragon's Back! We started from Hulda Crook's Park. We walked in the valley area then headed up to see the views while hiking. Peaceful, sometimes solitary - just my wife and I, other times a few people and mountain bikers! It's a good hike, close to home. Took the dog with us, too. She enjoyed it!

This trail starts at Hulda Crooks Park - NOT on Reche Road & Scotch Lane. Trail starts near the dog park. Great workout - lots of ups and downs - but no shade. Be prepared.

This place is pretty big with lots trail choices. No shade and lots of wild animal activity (mules, wild boar, Bob cat, dear, etc.). Trail is packed dirt so ok for strollers. It's also full of mountain bicycles so be aware where you walk as they can appear out of nowhere very quickly.

Did as part of Jedi trail. Good rolling hills. Will definitely do it again.

Good local trail to get a quick hike in. There are plenty of offshoot trails to make it more challenging.

Great area, nice people, a few coyotes.. enjoy the trail at a leisurely pace and/or increase the intensity and trek a steep, less trodden, path.

Theres a dog park(big/small) by the entrance btw. If you and your furry friend(s) are feelin friendly, id definitely recommendi.

great hike raining the whole time me and dog had great time

Very nice hike, make sure you look at the map before you start to get a idea of where you want to walk, only bad thing I wish people would pick up there dogs poop, they even give you bags and there’s poop on each trail you take

Easy trails nice hills for a good workout. Watch out for the transients that live in the canyon areas...not the safest place to hike alone.

A great hike! I would definitely do it again, we looped at the end of the trail and did the West Ridge trail as well.

My only beef with this trail was that it was poorly marked, I would say that if you are planning on hiking here to keep your app on or download the map for this trail. There are a lot of loops and switchbacks that could put you on the opposite side of the park if you don't have a good sense of direction.

Also, if you are doing any of the ridge trails, wear proper shoes. They are slippery slopes! Pun intended. ✌

Not a bad hike. Will have to do again in spring when it’s green.
