I grew up in Eureka and had no idea this existed until my husband and I were visiting family a few years back. Now it’s one of our regulars. It is so peaceful and tranquil and is a nice break from the city and the dense forest. The birds are beautiful and depending on the time of year, you can spot baby ducks!

Nice little trail with a few ducks and geese along with a few species of shorebirds along the way. Interesting area. easy enough for most people to walk.

Really nice easy trail along the water with excellent bird watching opportunities.
Flat, gravel trail that runs along the shore of Hookton Slough. Several benches along the path to hang out and take in the view. Also a nice dock for launching a canoe or kayak. Nice large parking lot also.
