I explored so much of this area back in May!
In the end, I enjoyed the best views from a trail that was nestled a little before the park headquarters off the side of the road.
I had an amazing time running up, down, and along the hills.
Gorgeous views!

Nice loop with not so hard huffing to do. The walk by the lake was nice - that is where you will find a couple of restrooms and benches to look over the water. This trail is a lot easier than the Squirrel Gulch hike. Nothing real steep and the views are stunning. Some wildlife including the same doe I spotted last month.

Nice 5 mile loop. combination of wide fire road as well as single track with a few very steep hills. Best to go counter clock wise. This is a moderate to difficult hike.

It’s a pretty trail, but not a lot of shade, any time of the year but summer. Saw a lot of wild life, deer, huge birds (careful with small dogs) we had two and the bird kept circling us and at one point came so close to the grown it scared us. We picked up our dogs until it went away. We also saw wild turkeys and cows. Spectacular views!

Awesome trail with great views and wild life encounters. Off leash dogs allowed.
Will come back.

Beautiful in April!! Loved it.

Very nice scenic

Excellent for dog adventurers as dogs are allowed off leash! Be aware there are cattle present, as well as HUGE predatory birds (which were AMAZING and took my breath away).
We went with 3 adults and 5 dogs varying in size and it was fantastic! Excellent for wildflower seeing. Go when it's lush and green (I went April 10th), I'd imagine it might not be as fun in August. We went on a Tuesday around morning/afternoon and there were very few people there.
Also, we went off trail by accident and ended up hiking up some hills that were, uh....phew! Not sure if the actual trail is as strenuous, but what we hiked was more of a moderate level for sure.

hiked it with few friends in the fall with a lot of birds around.

Beautiful views! Have done this several times and it never gets old. Sunset hikes are the best here :)

This place is beautiful, especially if you come during winter / spring when everything is still green. Very peaceful and serene.

There is a trail where dogs are allowed to walk off-leash. Our dogs loved it.

You can also do water activities here like canoeing, rowing, and fishing.

My friends and I have dubbed this hike "booty blasters" because of the workout your butt gets going up the hill! The view at the top is worth the climb, especially in the Spring. Brought the jogging stroller last time and took the side trail back down the hill. Bad idea! Too narrow!!

Partly cloudy but perfect MLK day hike. Many trail options. Well maintained with benches on hilltops to take a break and enjoy the scenery.
If you make it all the way you the lakeside, be prepared to hoof it back in a steady uphill climb back to the trial head. It’s worth it. Bring water.

Awesome fun and beautiful spot

Ridgeline was a fun a trail to hike, there were plenty of hills and some benches along the way to sit and gaze at the scenic view. Unfortunately while I did enjoy the view the whole area was clearly showing the effects of the drought as a majority of the lake was gone and the rolling green hills had become yellow. Although that might sound disappointing there are some cows along the trail to aw at and the hills are still just as high.

Beautiful but very steep in parts

Lots of side trail options. Bring lots of water and sunscreen. Dogs are allowed off leash except in developed parts of the trail (which is only a tiny section along the lake)

Gets the heart beating right from the start. Once at the top, there are more trails. Dogs are allowed off-leash.

I Like How For One My Dog Was Allowed Here, Even Though There Was A Small Fee Of $2 In Order For Him To Enter Along With Me . There Are Other Trails . They’re Open To Everything Relating To Go Out On The Water, Boats, Canoes, Nd Others I Don’t Know The Name Of . I Only Walked The Ridgeline Trail&I’m Satisfied With It. I Felt It The Next Day

I recommend taking the trails to the left after you enter the cattle gate after crossing the river. They all lead to the top for views of Del Valle and are not as steep of a climb as the road to the top. They are also more scenic and offer shade during hot days.

Can I use my kayak there?

Beautiful! Overlooks the lake. First hill is tough!

Great feeling of being in the mountains. Lost of wildlife to be seen. From first rain in Oct till about April it is a pretty spot with steep hills and green slopes. enough trees to add additional interest. It is busy for first couple of miles but thins out after that. There is a water tower about 3.3 miles in at the top of a hill. That is a great spot for lunch and even a good spot to turn around.
