Perfect for dogs. Great for swimming with dogs. Came on a sunny Saturday in July and there were places where there were no people along the shore and we could swim without having to worry about our dogs disturbing other people and dogs. Excellent

This was a nice short hike with just enough incline to work up a good sweat on a warm morning. Nice views of a pond and the rolling hills. Also ran into some wildlife such as cows (of course), rabbits, squirrels, and even a coyote! The coyote didn’t bother us though as it was munching on a squirrel as we passed by.

Breezy and busy on a sat. Nicer doing a trail up here early in the day. Don't expect to find much shade...

Great trail when we did it in the spring. a different opinion from my hiking partner that day. He didn't enjoy the climbs. Much better spring or winter hike.

Beautiful place. I had to tell my girls don’t give up to get to the top of the hill. Once there it opened up and was beautiful. We saw a coyote, two eagles, tons of rabbits and squirrels. Great place to take the kids

Typical hot unshaded Livermore trail. Fine for a short trek with the kids or pets. However, the part shown in red is closed to bikes and equestrians contrary to what the map indicates. There is a wide paved trail (dotted black line) which goes to and from the water storage area at the start/end point.

Did this one before the other two trails and didn't hit the go button on the GPS at the beginning. I started left and it's at least a 1/2 mile hill and then just down the rest of the time. The big surprise for this area was a nice little pond with quite a few trees. This was the best of the 3 trails here for me but all would have been better in the spring or winter.

Sure it would've been ok if it would have been open.... Closed for some sort of construction.... Drove 60 miles to do it.

Ok little trail but created another here that was much better... Been doing way too many bike trails lately. GPS fouled up and drug part of another attempted trail into the track of this one.

Been hiking the valley on week days for 3 weeks. Came up to Livermore and hiked the best trail I've hiked during that time. Short but a little up and down and much better than the first one I did that was onsite here in the park. Try this one first!

Good hike to test out some new gear, nice views. Paid $6 for parking, forgot it was a charged location but luckily they accept card. Ran into a few park staff very friendly, will be returning.

Hot. Dusty and amazing in July Will try again on an early morning

Nice loop with not so hard huffing to do. The walk by the lake was nice - that is where you will find a couple of restrooms and benches to look over the water. This trail is a lot easier than the Squirrel Gulch hike. Nothing real steep and the views are stunning. Some wildlife including the same doe I spotted last month.

Great breezy hike with nice views. I'll definitely do it again soon.

Busy trail with lots of people, bikes, kids, and dogs. A couple that was ahead of me allowed their large dogs to poop on the trail and didn't pick it up. Lots of dog poop on the trail. Yes, it may be in a cow pasture with all the other cow patties, but it's unsanitary to leave dog poop. One family was walking a pit bull off leash.

The trail itself is nice, but I suspect the lot of people are here because there is no charge to use the park. If you want solitude, this is not the place to come.

Difficult bike ride. Beautiful views.

I went out there today with my dog and was told they will not let you hike with a dog even on a leash. I had to leave and find another trail.

It’s a pretty trail, but not a lot of shade, any time of the year but summer. Saw a lot of wild life, deer, huge birds (careful with small dogs) we had two and the bird kept circling us and at one point came so close to the grown it scared us. We picked up our dogs until it went away. We also saw wild turkeys and cows. Spectacular views!

Nice 3.5 Mile loop that gets you close to the lake. When you get to the bottom you can take the trail down to the lake if you want to see it.

Nice loop, gets you down to the lake and back

introduced to this amazing trail by my brother and uncle, and came right back for it! Several trails at this location. Not much shade,so bring a hat! it’s peaceful.

Awesome trail with great views and wild life encounters. Off leash dogs allowed.
Will come back.

A nice 9.3 mike route starting at the Sycamore Park lot and threading 3 trails to end at the DelValle dam. A few inclines on the route makes it exciting.
Lots of wildlife, so be on the watch as you could run into them...like we almost did. Just allow them to pass and you’re all good. Well maintained trails and amenities with Rangers on patrol.
Would definitely do it again!

Excellent for dog adventurers as dogs are allowed off leash! Be aware there are cattle present, as well as HUGE predatory birds (which were AMAZING and took my breath away).
We went with 3 adults and 5 dogs varying in size and it was fantastic! Excellent for wildflower seeing. Go when it's lush and green (I went April 10th), I'd imagine it might not be as fun in August. We went on a Tuesday around morning/afternoon and there were very few people there.
Also, we went off trail by accident and ended up hiking up some hills that were, uh....phew! Not sure if the actual trail is as strenuous, but what we hiked was more of a moderate level for sure.

Nice little hike. I went when the hills were green. Pretty little lake there. Had to navigate around a cow on the trail
