Great hike, about easy to moderate level.

The most beautiful hiking spot and the best so far that I have completed 20 Trails this month and nothing beats this .

Closed due to COVID. We got kicked out by the very angry sheriff. Can’t even hop a fence these days. But we were respectful and he let us go without a fine.

Pretty views but barely any shade. Mostly wide trails but some areas were quite narrow

Nice peaceful trail. Some rocks for kids to climb, pretty wildflower meadows, and nice views.

Really fantastic trail. Lots of rolling hills and consistent lake views. There are so many paths that run side by side that it was never crowded. Lots of places to go into the lake as well

Starts off easy then intensifies towards the end..

Fun easy morning hike. A good portion is on a fire road so limited shade in those sections. Otherwise easy fun walk.

A good trail ! Suggest going early as the shade is minimal.

My 7yo son survived. E z p z

Lots of shade and nice weather the whole hike.

Great trail for beginners. No real elevations. It’s more of a walk not a hike. We saw lots of wild animals.

Very nice view. Not much shade

For some truly great views, you’ll need to go off-trail a bit but it’s totally worth it! Trails aren’t marked too well, so I relied on the app for directions. That’s the only reason why it’s not a 5 star to me. I am such a big fan of the remote feel however. There is so much to see on this trail, with hardly anyone on it. I only bumped into 2 people the entire time

Nice easy hike, I loved the views. This trail was a little crowded, saw lots of people at the park.

as of 26 April 2020, the last mile is closed to the public (close to the campgrounds). However, majority of this hike is still totally open! Less people as you go in further. Wide gravel trials with tons of cow trails and mountain bike paths to branch off and use. Mixed shade and exposure; depends on your route. If the trailhead lot is full (it was for me), the park less than a mile below has $5 day parking and trails to connect to the trailhead.

Lots of hills, little shade but beautiful views.

So pretty and quiet. On the easy side of moderate. We saw turkeys, frogs, rabbits, and squirrels. Parking is open. Really lovely place to walk.

No tree coverage so it must be done during the cooler months.

I have been coming to Brushy Peak for awhile and have avoided this side of the park, sticking to the main trails instead, and I was missing out. This hike is on the shorter side, but it has nice views of Livermore, a quiet pond, amazing purple, yellow, and orange wildflowers, and just enough elevation gain to feel your muscles. Definitely give it a try for diversity, or as a fun hike with kids.

Beautiful trail. The first 2 miles have lots of benches and shade for a nice easy hike (it is basically all up hill though), and after that there’s little to no shade or benches, which is fine by me, so defiantly pack lots of water (and sunscreen!) if you plan on going the full route. We (me and my dog) made it about 4-5 miles in when it got too hot for us and we had to turn around. The view was beautiful and we came face to face with some cows! The gravel trail was too rough for my puppy, but we still had tons of fun. 10/10 would recommend for anyone!
