HikingGreat!

Beautiful trail. a lot of wide road that is easy and relaxing to hike. a little bit of climbing up to the fall to keep things interesting. Gorgeous views from Fire Road!

Ended up doing a slightly different loop (more on Blithedale ridge going west). Lovely shaded walk on Dawn Falls down by the riverbed with lots of tall pines and redwoods. A few warnings: 1) very limited street parking near the trailhead so plan to walk 0.3-0.5 miles on the road to get to the trailhead 2) there are some very technical/steep parts to the trail. In particular I found coming down Barbara Springs to be surprisingly steep, technical and at times hard to keep my grip (due to a lot of loose dirt). Definitely want to wear hiking shoes.

Beautiful hike. Would rate it as easy, not moderate.

Trail is much longer than 5.8 miles. More like 7. Great hike. Not a lot of people!!!

Missed the trail head down the Ravine so continued on the fire road and doubled back.. made the trip longer . Most likely could have continued and ended up at the bottom then walk back to my car

Ok, went clockwise. Barbara trail steep but fun and only 0.4 miles. Rest are all down so not a great workout

Excellent shade cover, great forest views, and the inclines are challenging but not impossible.

Nice, easy shaded hike. Well covered for 80% of it. Lots of houses have backyards adjacent to the trail which seems odd but the houses are all beautiful and peaceful so I didn’t mind! (Can’t speak for them though)

HikingGreat!Rocky

This loop combines Piedmont Trail, Dawn Falls Trail, Southern Marin-Line Road, and Barbara Springs Trail. I modified the last 1.5 mile. Instead of taking Barbara Springs Trail, I kept continuing on Southern Marin-Line Road. Going downhill on the last 0.7 mile was very steep. Looking back, probably easier to do it the other way around. The entire loop is mostly shaded, a moderate level loop, and moderately trafficked. Plan on starting at 10a so you can relax and go to Perry's afterwards. PS: Make a reservation during covid!

Great hike past the obscenely wealthy. There are tons of beautiful redwoods and just one little steep section with switch backs going up, and one steep section going down. The ridge line on the fire road was surprising well shaded. The trail was INCREDIBLY busy, tons of people on it. We give it a low friendliness rating as about 20-30% of folks we said Hi to responded.

Took me awhile to get why this was marked moderate. About two miles in it gets so steep and the entrance to the path that loops around is so steep you need hiking shoes. I almost fell many times. Other than that I loved it!

Hiked to the middle peak by using Lakeview trail to find a bunch of radio towers emitting radiation. Going up the Colier Spring trail was a nice workout.

only 30 minutes drive away from home. Mostly shade and windy. Just perfect amount of weather, elevation and duration! Coming down via Barbara trail was adventurous and felt like an obstacle course. Barbara trail was unpaved, mostly just nature as it is and steep. (loved it!) Might be best for trail run.

Pretty trail, don’t expect to see running waterfalls. The path posted on AllTrails is a little misleading, it doesn’t quite follow the trail.
