Great trail! Beautiful views. we walked clock wise. Last part of trail is a little steep. Park at Packers Bay by trailhead sign. Trail comes out to road, head down to parking lot for a loop. Could use some brush work.

Very good trail, partly in the woods and part on the shore of the lake. Last part is on the road. Beautiful contrast between the dark green of the trees, the red of the soil and the light green of the water.

Only hiked 1 mile in from our house boat and then returned. Lots of poison oak as other reviewers mentioned. Because of that, too afraid to scramble down to the falls/creek we passed.

When looked up this trail it said for mountain biking... well it DEFINITELY is NOT for bikes!!! This trail is only for adults hiking. I would not bring kids or pets as it is unsafe.

This is a great trail that follows the lake. There is an abundance of shade, swimming spots, and view points of the lake/ mountains. The bugs were out because of the moist warm summer day. The trail is easy to follow and we only saw one other couple.

summer time , so we went into the water. easy access at the furthest out point into the lake about 1.5mi along as others notes a lot of poison oak along the way, watch out

Lovely trail along the Sacramento River. quite a bit of it is paved.

Great trail to enjoy the afternoon on. Poison oak by the creek portion of the trail. A few fallen trees but manageable to maneuver. Doing it again for sure.

Good hike but lots of poison oak and downed trees. You need to be kinda ninja to get through.

Great trail to get down by the water and hike around in the afternoon. Some trees down across the trail in some areas. We had to go and hands and knees under one and scramble over another. The trail is a little over grown on the way up from the way but nothing too difficult.

(Memorial Weekend ‘19) Good trail if the weather wasn’t so damaging years prior. Tough to stay on the marked trail with all the down rubble and washouts, ended up having to turn around due to down trees and the trail disappearing. Other than that there are some good views with a couple nice beach spots.

May 26, 2019. Lovely trail. If going counterclockwise, the final half mile or so is on the road. 1/3 mile from the start I had to get on hands and knees to crawl under a huge fallen tree crossing the path. Saw poison oak, but it was avoidable.

This was a great hike for beautiful views and not a lot of work. Since we were on vacation, we didn’t want anything too strenuous. Beautiful views, lovely creek, and, overall, a lovely Sunday afternoon leg-stretcher. Plan on doing it again next year when we come back to the area.

Nice, nothing more.

Did this hike today with my son and came across two rattlesnakes! I know they are many places, but on the trail is scary for kids. Also lots of down trees and obstacles.

Beautiful scenery but needed to be further cleared of fallen trees since Feb. storm.

Due to the recent snow and wind, there were several (at least 10-15) fallen trees on the already narrow trail. This turned the trail more into an obstacle course, forcing you to climb over, around, or under them. Until they get this trail cleaned up, I would not recommend to anyone with kids, dogs, persons with physical ailments, or elderly.

It was a great road to hike, I would also recommend biking with the family as long as the loggers aren’t working. As for the end, don’t expect much.... once the app says “verified complete, you basically turn around and head back, the road however keeps going.

The trail is great during the winter, down hill in the beginning, pretty easy going in the middle with some great access to the lake. It’s the end that’s the bummer with having to walk the road back to the trailhead.
