The watershed remains open to the public, with some restrictions, for recreational use daily from sunrise to sunset. The recent county health order prohibits vehicles and parking at the watershed, with the exception of people with disabilities who have the required disability placards or license plates for their vehicles. Parking for those with disabilities is available at our Sky Oaks parking lot. While the watershed remains open, visitors must comply with social distancing requirements of at least 6 feet. All volunteer programs that take place on the watershed have been canceled until further notice.Show more

This hike will take you through several vegetation zones and is a real wildflower treat in the early spring. It offers sweeping vistas of a number of watersheds, parts of west and southern Marin, Mount Tam, and Tomales Bay. Barnaby Road and the Cross Marin Trail are bike and horse friendly. As with most state parks, dogs should be left behind. The park has a number of additional trails, some of which interconnect with regional open space trail systems.Show more

Hikers may take an alternate route to Barnabe Peak: https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/california/barnabe-peak-loop-via-barnabee-road-and-cross-marin-trail. Hike the winding forest trail up reach the sun-bleached summit of Mount Barnabe and views over Marin County. The Marin headlands across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco offer tons of sightseeing potential, but doesn't everyone know it. Areas like Muir Woods and Stinson Beach are choked with traffic every fair weather weekend. Choose to drive an extra few miles, leaving the melee behind you and you'll be rewarded with empty roads and quiet trails.Show more
