It’s gotten more overgrown from limited use. Still great. Incredibly buggy.

Gorgeous but HOT. We ended up arriving at 1pm when it was 90F and the first half of the walk (counter clockwise) there is no shade at all. We also got a little bit lost so maybe write down the names of the trails before you head out - there are quite a lot of turns and we missed one. I don't have the best knees and the up down was quite taxing but still doable. Beautiful flowers and stunning views. Would do again but in somewhat cooler weather ;). Wear. A. Hat.

We enjoyed this trail. There is a lot of shaded green area. Good for a nice hike on a hot day. We only saw one seating area during the whole loop and no bathrooms.

Pleasant hike, nice mix of greens and redwoods. Tar pit was pretty cool.

Fun trail for all skill levels. Went with a group at all experience levels and all had a great time. The trail was good and the scenery was awesome. Recommend for a good outing.

Lot's a wildflowers, pretty good birding. Very exposed and was super hot when I went. I went counter clockwise and there was more shade on the second half of the loop. Pretty cool you can see into the Bay one side and out to the Pacific ocean on the other side.

Beautiful, easy walk with kids. I’m not too crowded if you go by 10 o’clock. I recommend you park in the equestrian parking lot which makes it a 1 mile loop around the lake. The lake is absolutely gorgeous. While the trail is closed to bicycles, some people can’t read or obey the rules.

Wonderful trail, we took a left at the loop entrance. Be mindful that the last stretch is steep elevations and takes longer than you think! Well shaded except for the middle of the loop, but it still had trees.

Wonderful hike! There were carpets of wildflowers blooming everywhere - amazed at all the natural beauty! Also saw a giant tree, some rolling hills, a lizard that was posing for us on the side of the trail, and a snake slithering across the trail!

Nice hike. Very muddy today. The parking lot was full when we got there, so had to wait a few minutes for a spot to open up. The first couple miles or so are downhill on a fire road. You’ll then go through a couple gates, and turn left onto a narrow unmaintained trail. Granted this was during the Coronavirus pandemic, but the trail was pretty overgrown and unmaintained at this point. You’ll then wind up the hill for a while. There is a forested area at the top which is kind of cool. Then just come back the way you came.

Mostly shaded. Loop on the return was exposed but had a refreshing breeze.

Really cute and easy lake loop. Parking lot was almost full even with the COVID-19... And we saw a turkey!

This trail probably has some of the prettiest views along the entire bay. Unfortunately it’s become extremely overgrown. I wasn’t able to make it to the very top because of the tall grass near the peak. I would still recommend it but it needs to be cleaned up a bit. Long pants and sleeves are a must.

Easy flat walk. My kids loved all the birds and looking at the lake

Absolutely beautiful hike! Plenty of wildflowers and stunning hilly views. There are portions the trail covered with shady trees too. Loved the variety of flowers and scenery.

Great, relatively easy hike with some slight rolling hills. Beautiful wildflowers in bloom. The trail has variations of landscape; hiking on the ridge of the hills, down into a valley, and through a forested area. Some wildlife can be spotted—lizards, snakes, and hawks. There was a decent breeze that kept us cool. 10/10 would recommend. Really enjoyed this hike.

Great trail with amazing wildflower carpet... never seen such density of flowers before! Wish I would have picked a less sunny day.. by 10 am, sun was pretty hot... but the breeze helped.

Beautiful day. Clear. No wind. Carpets of wildflowers everywhere. A spectacular show. Mostly California poppies but also Lupines, Mallow, Indian Paintbrush and many others. The parking lot was about half full at 10:00 and full at 12:30. Trails not crowded and everyone masked or physically distanced.

A really pretty trail that isn’t too hard. Lots of orange flowers were blooming on the hillside and it was really nice. The second half is fairly shaded. Really liked the dedicated parking spot. The trail is open on weekdays but not weekends due to covid.
