Wasn’t much to see but a nice little walk.

A decent walk in the park type trail. I think even beginners will be bored by it. Watch out for the snake holes all throughout the trail.

Super easy hike. Easy to find, right off the freeway & close to home. It had a little steep hill but that was all... loved the fact that it was kid & dog friendly. Dirt trail but you could take stroller if needed (fyi)

It is good beginners trail and has restrooms.

I was in town on business and went here to get a quick run in on a late afternoon. Thankfully some locals directed to a much better out and back trail that starts from this same trailhead. I don’t know what it’s called but most everyone coming to this parking area headed that way. That trail goes back into the ravine and is hilly, but much more scenic. After my run I cooled down by walking this trail. Pretty flat and boring.

Nice afternoon hike with the family. Definitely would come back.

Walked here with a good friend a while back. Good a nice warmup.

It’s not 1.8 mike hiking. I did 6 miles. You might need to upgrade to access the map in case you get lost. Hiking in the morning feels awesome!

Great trail; hiked the whole 10 miles in and out. However, I'm not sure why it's ranked easy. All of the different trails that make up this trail are marked moderate. The incline change is 1410, which is greater than most of the other moderate, connecting trails. I would classify this trail as moderate.

Fun hike. Great climb.

This trail is great, very clear path, easy enough with one section that is steeper than the rest (up or down, depending on which direction you walk). We went right at the trailhead, so the steep portion was almost the last thing we did. It was uphill but no problem for my 4-year-old. Only negative was that this isn’t an amazing view, it’s just a loop back in the hills.

I wouldn’t consider this for a hike. If you want a nice walk it would be good as long as you’re okay with walking on a bike path between neighborhoods.

Free parking.
But the pavement part of the trail is closed. Many hikers jump the gates. Safe.

It was okay. Plan accordingly. There is no shade. Will probably do again, but not on a hot day.

Lot of kids play sports in park ..nice to watch

Great maintained trail if you feel like going for a nice run. Not terribly difficult but if you're looking for a hike with nice views this isn't the best place but offers a nice view of some hills, residential, dry...wheat, cacti, some green shrubs on one side, and a golf course! They also have something called turtle rock but I didn't see it. In terms of wildlife... I just saw spiders that looked like skulls, didn't get much closer to see haha. There's a few bridges you can cross that are nice but other than those there's no shade.
In any case, great run, a little too easy for a hike.

Great warm up run for those that want a nice jog. This place leads to other trails too so once you finish the loop you have other options leading out of there. But overall gentle slopes but mostly flat. Its kind of plains as far as the eye can see kind of look. Until you see the freeway anyway.
Its a good 2 mile jog, no cover for shade so go early! I found the occasional garden snake or lizard slithering by while I ran. But I'd recommend it for a run.

Easy trail with enough elevation at one end to get your heart rate up. In June, this trail is rather brown instead of green. Since there is no shade at all, I took my kids at 6:30 am to avoid the heat of the day. It was overcast when we went but if the sun had been out, even at that early hour, we would have needed hats. Overall, this is a great trail for a family hike. I will definitely do this one again and again

Well cared for trail. No cliffs, nice and smooth. Great surface for wearing down my 3 year old. :-) No shade anywhere on the trail, so bring your sunblock.

Nice mix of urban (near roads and housing tracts) and wilderness. I only went about half way, from Quail Hill to Turtle Rock community center, and back. Nice, pretty easy hike. I would go back with my dogs, on leash, of course!

Great convenient nature spot for running! Or just walking and enjoying the scenery. I have witnessed gorgeous sunsets here, too. Parking lot is nice & ample. Freeway noise isn't bad in my humble opinion ☺️

Great trail with adequate inclines. Beautiful sunset from the trail. Dirt and asphalt trail which is nice. Bathrooms available by the Quail Trail Loop entrance.
Beautiful walk!

Absolutely no canopy/shade on this trail, which is not uncommon in O.C. Fairly strenuous elevation gain/loss. Deer Canyon loop on the Crystal Cove Park side is the easiest loop. One can opt for the longer/harder loops, e.g. Rattlesnake loop, Moro Canyon. Its rating of difficult/hard is inaccurate. For a beginner perhaps but for one who trailruns/hikes regularly this should be moderate at worst.

Loved the hike. Took our dog along and it was a good enough hike to tire her out. We will be back!

Short trail, too skinny for my liking at times, but very peaceful.
