Beautiful trail but TONS of poison oak!

Beautiful hike and - at leas on a Friday afternoon - not very crowded. Saw lots of wildlife - Tule elk, deer, seals, quail, etc. Note that at lower tides you can walk all the way down to the point, though it will add about two miles to the hike (one mile each way); well worth it for the views, the seals, the kelp forests, and the almost perfectly circular boulders shaped by the tides.

We took our ten month old out in his hiking backpack for his first outing and we were pleased with this trail! We would definitely do it again. Plenty of shade, some pretty flowers and a nice beach rest at the end. Also, we saw tons of bat rays in the water on the bay. Very cool!

One of the better beach hikes. We arrived at 7:00am. We had the entire beach to our self's. Completely isolated early morning walk. We only hiked 3.5 miles / 1-1/2hrs but still nice as hiking in the sand is a bit slower. Lots of wildlife, birds, two seals watching us from the water, crabs. Dog friendly. We left around 9:30 and went to breakfast at the Station House Cafe near Point Reyes Station. Great morning!

Fun for a quick day hike! Beautiful views for such a short distance!

So beautiful!! Easy hike, minor uphills for a few sections. Elephant seals we also it in full form!

Good hike, beautiful views of the coastline. Only wish we would have been lucky enough to see whales!

Beautiful secluded beach with interesting driftwood. Hiked here from our Point Reyes kayak-in campsite. We saw a lot of the wild elk in the walk to the trail head. My fiance proposed to me here which makes it a little extra special of course. :)

Nice beach walk. Beautiful wildflowers. Not too windy. The beach just by the trail head was very crowded but thinned out quickly as we walked along.

Great hike with some beautiful views both at the top and near the shoreline where there’s access to picnic tables and bbq grills if interested.

Magical. Beautiful drive to the trailhead from the city and easy and beautiful walk through wetlands, around the large lagoon and to the huge beach expanse. Highly recommend

Beautiful. Went there Saturday afternoon clear and 60° outside. Spent a few hours at the lighthouse property just observing the scenic views. Cannot wait to head back in the near future! Definitely another trip coming.

its just a path to get to the lighthouse but worth doing. done it with little kids w/o trouble. just take it easy on the way back up the 200+ stairs. worth going down. we did it in the month of March and you can see a lot of whales passing by. its just gorgeous!

easy trail. done it with little kids w/o a problem. beautiful views of the cliffs, ocean and of course the elephant seal. i was expecting to see more flowers though.

Came for a day trip with the family and a couple girlfriends. Was just beautiful. We walked down the entire beach. Found ship ruins and hiked up the sand dunes. Was a wonderful day will go back for sure.

a great place to relax after an intense hike like Sky Trail. I would bring lunch next time.

A short hike down to the beach that leads to incredible views of the ocean, rocks to climb on, and a beautiful place for a sunset. Will be back!

Easy and kid friendly. Beautiful drive and beach!

Great hike when you want something short and simple but with stellar views. I wasn’t aware that I would get to see elephant seals so that was a nice surprise!

This was a nice little 10 min walk from the parking lot to the beach. So just a little heads up, there are restrooms, however there are no sinks and the toilets don’t flush, there are no toilet seat covers so bring your own or be ready to squat. I walked with my 15 month old son in a carrier, this was easy on the way down to the beach, on the way back up the hill, it was a bit tough with all of his extra weight plus the backpack I had on, just take your time going up. There are not a ton of people at this location, which is nice for a chill day, it was beautiful, it’s like hiking a trail, then you start hearing the beach, turn a corner and boom! Ocean! We brought lunch and a blanket, walked around the waves were a bit intense, so no one was swimming, but you could put your feet in, this a great place to take pictures, we saw a bunch of elk on a mountain on our way back to our car.

In winter time, this trail is very popular for whale watching and only accessible by shuttle bus, $7 pp. Definitely worth to explore: beautiful landscape, dramatic cliffs, long beaches and rolling green hills that are speckled with cows. Once at the parking lot for the visitor center, a small hill awaits. Passing some resident housing and the visitor center, the lighthouse sits on a cliff below. 290 stair steps lead down to it. Volunteers are readily available to share historical details and stories.

Visited in June. A spur of the moment decision when we were driving by and it was very busy. Almost didn't find a spot to park near the start of the walk to the lighthouse. Easy paved trail to the top of the stairs but a lot of narrow stairs to take to get down to the actual light. You have to at least walk to the top where the visitors center is because you can't see the lighthouse just driving by. The stairs were only difficult due to the amount of people going up and down and the wind which was blowing like crazy! However, the view was beautiful and I loved learning the history of the lighthouse and it's keepers.

Very windy and cold!

This is a wonderful short, easy hike. Amazing views and even elephant seals that you can see below on the beach from the cliffs. Highly recommend.

Amazing place, you feel like your are at the end of the world. Was the most crowded place I went to in Pt. Reyes but still not too bad at all. The trail is paved and easy to the stairs. There are 308 stairs down to the lighthouse but it wasn't as bad as it seems. Got to see some grey whales on their migration from Alaska to Mexico!!
