Moderate busy trail with series of hills which over looks Drake's Estuary. No shade after walk through large pine forest.

Chilled and beautiful trail. Sunset beach is small but special and a lovely spot to have a swim before the hike out. Quite exposed after the first mile with wonderful views of the inlet, not much elevation change and tonnes of wildlife. Loved it.

HikingGreat!

A short hike out to another beautiful ocean overlook. We watched seals sunning themselves on the beach, so I’d recommend bringing binoculars. Traveled October 2017

Trail is mostly exposed and there’s a lot of cow poop but otherwise a nice day hike with some rewarding views of the wetlands at the end. Take some binoculars and you will spot some seals!

Seems longer than what it is estimated to be, but that could also just be me haha. Despite this, I found it to be very unique to Marin: encompassing cows, rolling hills, and a cute beach with a marsh at the tip of Creamery Bay.

Great trail with diverse wildlife and variety of ecosystems. Spent a long time looking at birds, deer, and cows. Binoculars highly recommended for this trail! Went past the end of the charted path to the beach and got to walk along the ocean and rocks. Definitely worth extending.

This is a lovely walk. Took Estero trail to Sunset Beach trail and around the point (otherwise inaccessible at high tide) and back out via Sunrise Beach. Hit the trailhead at 8:30 am. Only one other car in the parking lot. 9.5 miles total. Lots of wildlife (Harbor seal, deer, otters, coyote, elk, and many varieties of birds) and very interesting marine vegetation exposed at low tide. Wandered off the track on the return due to cows blocking the trail.

The road to this trailhead was closed for “Road Work” so at this time I don’t think it’s accessible (unless you can find parking near the turn off and bypass the construction on foot). I did the Estero Trail instead which was beautiful.

Shady forest for the first mile then the rest is exposed up and over bluffs. Beautiful views of the Estero. Keep walking all the way to the end and around the point if the tides allow - Super cool rocks and view across the channel to Limantour Spit.

Great short hike with fantastic views! The whole area is stunning but get there early if you want to park near the trailhead. Only busses allowed after about 8am. Bring a windbreaker and beanie!

HikingMuddyNo shade

Drive to parking lot is beautiful, road a bit bumpy in areas. Trail is easy but muddy at points, specially after rain. Shuttle Bus service from Drakes Beach will be in operation during weekends and holidays through end of March or mid-April 2020 (this includes Point Reyes Lighthouse Trail as well).

Early sections are excellent but the stretch to Drakes Head is bumpy cow trails. The view makes up for it.
