Just a couple months after the Carr Fire ripped through, it is a testament to the trail builders and the firefighters how great the section of this trail is in.
It’s October, so the creeks are all dry and there is plenty of ash still around, but I choose to see the beauty of what survived the worst fire this county has recorded. Dogs were good on trail, just saw a few horse tracks as usual in this area. Try the optional section on your way down when the trail splits just to break it up.
We only did the first two miles in (the last mike looked pretty easy actually as you are on the ridge, but didn’t want to push it late on day.

Nice trail with some great views. Look out for speeding mountain bikers on the steep portion. Most of the trail is a narrow single track.
