This is a real hidden gem. Very quiet and tucked away. I went on a Sunday morning and didn’t see anyone until I was on my way back down the hill. I got a little confused about a half mile in at the spot where a bunch of paths converge. FYI, I figured out on my way back that the trick is to go up the 2 sets of stairs on the right to stay on the trail and follow the creek.

There are a few creek crossings along the trail that I would expect might make it impossible to complete during the rainy season. Along the East Ave trail there were a lot of picnic tables and even some benches that formed some sort of amphitheater. And I spotted an old wrecked car along the Ward Creek Road Trail.

One thing that’s great about this trail is that it’s almost 100% shaded, which is great during the summer months. Garin and Dry Creek parks to the south are the complete opposite, so this is a nice alternative if you want to be active, yet escape the sun and heat.

I was pleasantly surprised with this trail. Being in such an urban area I expected more people and thus litter but it was clean and quiet.

Nice and easy early morning time with a little bit of history to learn on the trail.

We enjoyed this hike on Father’s day. It’s very maintained and a good portion was in the shade. We had two eight year old girls who didn’t complain once. I think the hike was about an hour and my Apple Watch clocked it as 2.5 miles.

charming loop trail. this was a good time to see wildflowers. some small wooden bridges and small lake. great short hike.

Quintessential East Bay Hike - bald open face hills with oak shaded creek trails. Absolutely beautiful during the Spring months- very green with an abundance of wildflowers including poppies all over the place. Beautiful views of the bay. And COWS on the trail! Loved it.

WILDFLOWERS time for April! It is stunning view from trail end near Alta Vista Equestrian Center. 4.5 miles to and out from Garin Regional Park Gate. There are wild flower near the Jorden pond but most significant colorful patches is at the end!

Not exactly a loop but still a good hike with decent elevation and views. Watch for nettles and cow poop if you venture off the main trail.

Today was my first time hiking this trail. It was after a good rainfall, so it was a bit cold and windy. I wasn’t able to finish the full loop, but I was able to see some breathtaking views! I’m looking forward to doing the full loop and bringing my dog with me next time!

Lovely hike- took us about an hour. Great views, close cow encounters and historical landmark. Beware cow poop all over the place. Want to return to picnic with views in the future.

Went for a jog on a Sunday afternoon in January. Very pleasant, barely anybody for most of the time. Once you pass the cattle gate, it could get muddy but the views are very nice. Sweeping view of hills and the bay, mostly in the sun with a couple short shades. Watch out for cow poops.

Nice trail for a chilly day. Rolling hills but minimal shade.

1st time on this trail, really like how the variations of different hills to get a workout, also seeing the cows along the way help my kid walk alittle faster.

We really enjoyed the hike with our dog. The trail was in good condition (although we took a wrong turn ones). Very nice

Pretty good trail; just enough elevation. Was hoping that it loops back around but you just have to follow the same trail back. The photos I uploaded pretty much tells you why it's called Dry Creek trail.

Fun hike. Very easy with little elevation change. As the name implies, a creek ran through a lot of the trail There was even a section where you had to cross it to continue.

One of my favorite trails. Breath taking views of the Bay, City of Hayward and the San Mateo Bridge. Quite wooded by Zeile Creek. Refreshing to have a very wooded trail in this area.

Great views from the tops of the hills. The only issue would be cow pies. Lots of cow pies.

Beautiful landscape, cows, hawks. A little muddy in the beginning, so be careful you follow paths from the parking lot rather than the immediate trail to avoid the muck.

Nice hike. Some part of the trail were very muddy. We had to find an alternative route to get around the mud. It was hard to follow the trail because there were mud slides and fallen trees. Lastly, be prepared to cross the freezing water creek.
