This 500-ft long, 6-ft wide hard-packed trail leads from the parking lot gently down to the beach. - Once on the beach you can walk for 7 miles to the east a less than mean tide. - There is also a short trail up the west side of the bluff to the east to a very nice overlook. A quiet beach except summer days when school is out. Even then it is not crowded. Beware of walking more than a half mile or so in either direction and passing around parts of the bluff that get wet when the tide comes in. Make sure you get back before the tide comes in, especially if the surf is heavy. At very low tide there are some small tide pools. The creek isn't clean enough to swim in. Sometimes there is tar on the beach from the natural seeps offshore. Not positive dogs are allowed on leash. But a fair number of beach walkers bring dogs and many of them let the dogs off leash.Show more
