To clarify, this trail is NOT CLOSED. However, you can only access it from Glendora Mountain Road or from a hike up the Upper Colby Trail. The Motorway crosses private property between Azusa Peak and the bottom of the hill and the lower entry in Azusa is gated off and not accessible to the general public. You can hike it past Azusa Peak in the downhill direction, but will eventually start seeing warning signs about private property and will need to turn around back toward GMR unless you have permission to pass through from Rancho Vasquez. (I am not sure if this can actually be acquired.)

Sweeping views from the ridgeline. Relatively easy hike compared to others in the area if you start at GMR. Toughest stretch is coming back, ascending from Azusa Peak to Glendora Peak, but still a relatively moderate ascent.

I clicked on the directions and they don’t pop up on the navigation how do you get here ?

TIP: There’s a felled tree between the Mystic Canon/Big Dalton trailhead towards the east. This is a easy hike along asphalt roads with several trails along the way (Mystic Canyon to the north, Wren Meacham to the south and Pavil Canyon to the east). Also to the east, on the north side, are paved switchbacks taking you up to about 1500 ft.

lots of trails to explore here with ample shade and a little Creek, nice area to picnic, your in the mountains it's peaceful yet very close to urban areas, you wouldn't even know it.

This is short trail but it will give you a good workout!

great 2 miles round trip. saw a mountain king snake. see photo.

not all photos are of this creek trail hike. some are from Pupout hill hike

Nice trail! So many lizards but definitely easy and beautiful

This was an easy hike to do. However, beware of tarantulas. That kind of ruined it for me. So if you're afraid of them, this isn't the hike for you

Nice little trail, quite short but very easy. A lot of lizards!

Really great for beginners and solo hikers. Trail is clearly marked along the way.

This was a nice easy hike to get away from people and into some woods. Most of the trail is in the shade and you walk along a little creek, so it stayed cool the whole time.
Pros: very few people, easy to park and easy to follow. There are also some cool rock roadcuts at the end.
Cons: you are along a road for a bit of it, which isn't particularly scenic.
We brought our two dogs and it was nice to have the trail alone for almost all of it.

Super easy and great for first timers or someone just looking for a nice walk

Nice hike up with the trail. Watch for poison oak. The road is a smooth return.

Easy trail water runs next to it so does the road. Lots of poison oak be weary. Really super good for a new jogger

It’s a nice hike at the beginning because it starts off as a forest, but then it becomes open with nice views. This hike is infected with squirrels so every little noise you hear is them scaring you. The last half of the hike is full of little bugs flying all over you. Short but the steepness makes up for it. Great for beginners and kids. Once you reach GMR street, you’ve reached the end of the hike.

Parking is free and about 4 spots right at the entrance of the trail. Best bet, park near the tennis courts so you don’t bug the neighbors with your car. Plus it’s extra 5 min walk to get started.

Great trail with such beautiful plant life

Fun, easy trail. Good for my dog too. We did have a rather large rattlesnake cross the path in front of us though, so keep your eyes and ears open and keep your dogs close.

Easy trail, close to my friends place.. we started a bit higher up, so it was about 2miles there and back. Had a fun rope to swing on.. swing at your own risk lol!

Tackled this trail about two weeks ago and honestly despite its easy rating it’s not as easy as it’s described it’s a pretty steep uphill climb from beginning to end but not bad

Nice sunny morning for a good moderate hike. I went about 2 miles in and turned around. There were several mountain bikers, but they all were very courteous informing me as they passed, how many more riders were to follow. Flies were plentiful, but I had bug juice which worked well. I was a little disappointed when I drove up Glendora Mountain Road to find the gate closed (again). However, I realized that the trail head was only about 150 yards from where I parked at the gate. So I went around the gate and enjoyed the trail.

Went to hike Colby Trail but hiked this trail instead. Although it says moderate it was rather easy, no steep inclines but little rocky and narrow in some place. Even our little pug enjoyed the hike. Good thing most of the bikers have a bell on their bike otherwise you may not see them until it’s to late. Found a awesome tire swing and a cool little cave. Would definitely do this hike again.

Great easy hike for the whole family. Bring your pup. If you want an easy out and back, this is it.

Went to go hike this today and access road to get there is closed.

A good trail to build endurance all the way up and down .....but going down , you have to be extra careful and courteous for hikers are also using the trails.....

Fun little trail for beginners, be prepared for a little bit of surprise uphill at the beginning though! Glad to finally have checked this one off the list.
